Audiences are influenced from media texts and do not question what they are being told.
For instance, there was a broadcast in 1898 of "The War of the Worlds" the broadcast became very famous because everyone believed that there was an alien invasion occurring in America and everyone panicked.
This technique is mainly used for advertising the audience and are expected to take on messages and be influenced by slogans.

However this model does have downsides as it displays how audiences can be easily influenced in some cases, people can become desensitised by what they see in the media. An example of this is the murder of James Bulger, he was murdered by two ten year old boys who were imitating something from a VHS Tape of Childs play.

It doesn’t have to be Male, it can be female too.
 
Vanessa would be the Princess. The heroes reward the object of the villain’s schemes. 
 
Colossus would be the Helper as they help the hero on his quest.
