1. Thermo means heat, therefore the thermosphere is hot, its temperature can go up to 2000 degrees centigrade.
2. It is made up of the ionosphere and the exosphere.
3. The ionosphere is the upper layer of the thermosphere which sometimes overlaps with the exosphere(the outermost layer of the atmosphere).
4. The ionosphere grows and sinks in size.
5. Ionosphere contains ions(electrically charged particles) which create a display of light.
6. The lights are called Aurora Borealis in the northern hemisphere and Aurora Australis in the southern hemisphere.
7. Ions in the ionosphere reflect radio waves sent from Earth back to the Earth's surface. This enables us to have wireless radio communication.
8. The thermosphere is also home to the International Space Station.
