Though Ningli might have other ideas which would work better for her, her mentor kept insisting to take care of herself only because she cannot relate to Ningli's experiences.

The mentor used power over. And only wanted to give information based on her expertise in psychology. She also was not attuned with the mentee needs but instead imposed her perception of her mentee's identity on her like constantly asking about china.

Power Over
Caroline took, mentoring more as therapy session in way she has been shaped. Country , individuality and culture which brings completely different expectations from mentee and mentor part.
Yes, when I was simply going through cultural process to know it once. However, the mentor was more focused in history, why I should be continuing doing it forever. While, I took the session for sake of knowing the process of culture. It rather irked me to point, I just stopped trying altogether.
