         <description><![CDATA[<div>* Straw, wattle and daub, cob, logs, stone, and bricks were used as a base materials<br>*&nbsp; Straw: They stacked the bales together and laid more straw and other dry vegetation across the roof<br>* Wattle and Daub: This was used to make walls. They wove together wooden strips and placed them in a lattice pattern. After this, they put a sticky substance made of mud, clay, sand, straw, and dung.<br>&nbsp;* Cob: They mixed water sand straw, and clay together to make cob. Cob homes stood on a stone foundation<br>* Logs: The frames of houses and some roofs were made of wood. It was also used in making defensive structures<br>* Stone: Stone was used to build castles, bridges, churches, and homes. They were able to stand for a long time. <br>* Bricks: Clay was used to make bricks, daub, cob, and pottery. Bricklaying became very popular as they began to fire bricks. </div>]]></description>
