I agree completely that fairs are too noisy and it is difficult for students to reach experts. Usually in the neighborhood of the school, there are much smaller evens that though not so broader in terms of different jobs are ideal. Science cafes seems to be a huge event needed to be prepared.

In Spain if you do not represent any company, you should pay to attend any profesional science fairs.

As we can see in the video there are plenty of science fairs taking place in Malta. These are usually done at a secondary level. Since I teach in a primary school I haven't encountered one yet even though it is very intriguing even at this age.

I live near Naples and one the most important event is the "Fair Science" in Città della Scienza. It's very nice to participate because students have the opportunity to see new scientific resources, stay with a lot of other students and find new ideas for their future studies or work. Last time I went there with my students, they were very attracted by robotics.

There are lots of STEM careers fairs in Spain. I work at a primary school, and those events usually are for older students.
I have attended several times to an event called Science teaching in primary schools.What I liked most were the access to scienctist ideas on how to work each area and that they provide teachers with lots of practical examples to work on science lessons.

In my country there are job fairs in different locations. Also companies make worhshop inviting students to attend lectures and demonstrations of work. Teachers also organize visits to workplaces. They invite experts to talk about their professional experience. Universities advertise the courses and job possibilities. But young people are dreamers and owners of their will, they continue to choose the area they like best. On the other hand the country does not absorb students with STEM courses. As stated in the video, the Teen Science Cafe is taking place in my country but currently I am not that aware of any fairs going on. There are a number of projects and demonstrations going on such as biomedical week, ocean competition and EkoSkola projects. During March there has been taken place an event in Athens Greece. Children from all over Greece from age 11 - 18 took part in the 9th World Robot Olympiad competition. Moreover, a Greek NASA astronomer talked to children about a future career in NASA. My son's class participated and with high remarks. So I have surfed the web and I have found SICARM 2017 which includes two different events one about technology and the other called NASA Space Apps in Murcia, this last one sounds great for students because they can enjoy and learn about life in space.

In Spain, there is the Spanish Biology Olympiad (OEB) is an organization formed by teachers of secondary schools and university faculty throughout the national territory. Its main actions / objectives are:

- Organize every year the National Phase of the Spanish Biology Olympiad.

Despite the carreer day that teachers prepare in every high school and the carreer day at Alicante's University, we haven't got much else.
At high school you can usually find information about different carreers, but no STEM proffessionals.
At university you can attend different meetings with STEM oroffessionals, university proffessors and alumni.

I know about some science events and contests my students have participated in, but there is one in particular I have known for years, and in fact, I took part in it myself as asecondary student, which is called "Canguro Matemático". It consists of a series of Math exercises and problems students have to solve in different stages (local, regional and national). I always take part in a Fair Science in Salamanca, the event is called Science on the Street.
In fact, there is not a Fair Science like the examples we saw on the video, because is for everybodu, not only for High School Students or teenagers. Is like a Popular Science Fair, and in some cases we have to deal with people that harbours prejuices against Natural Science.

In my country, every year, science fairs are held in different parts of the country. In my city and for 15 years is made one. In it, there are many stands related to STEM. This new edition had 356 activities, 46 participants and more than 500 scientists, technologists and teachers. The Science Fair is a space where we promote and promote research, teaching, exchange and scientific dissemination, as an example for this year in my city: International Congress of Technology, Science and Society Valencia 2017. I’ve participated in several science fairs years ago for instance: expoquimia what I liked the most was how the students were interested in science and how they could see their application in daily life, they were very motivated by asking questions and at the end, in class the students formed groups of four people and did a work on that subject that I call the attention more. To be honest, it was a magnificent experience which I try to repeat every year with my students.

In Italy there is the Rome International Careers festival, a networking and a meeting opportunity between institutions, students, companies, international organizations. It's a new career festival, during the month of march was set the second edition.
The competitions are among thousand of International students and the idea was conceived by a non profitit organization whose name is Giovani nel Mondo. the most similar event I have attended to a fair(and participated as a volunteer) has been the TEDx Alcoy in the years 2016 and 2017 when were dedicated to teenagers. Students present projects organized as exhibits. There are real open-air workshops where experiments, machines, artifacts are offered that allow direct and immediate interaction with visitors. Science Challenge is a spectacular activity where groups of students test themselves in solving a problem or in making a product. In Educational robotics races different classes of schools are challenged with robots they have programmed and built under the constraint of guidelines set out earlier by an external jury. In Science near18 are collected projects of the latest high school or university classes realized in collaboration with the University. And students in peer to peer lessons can recreating the conditions of a school lab where a group of students holds a real lesson to another class group. I never partecipate in a careeer event.

In adittion, some institutions organize career event oriented towards students of all educational levels. One example in my region is "Feria de Ciencia y Tecnología de Castilla y León", organized by University of Burgos. Where students have a chance to expose their own projects, participate in scientific workshops, see t business and research programs of different companies and institutions, and participate in more ludic/educational activities.

In Italy there is I giovani e le scienze, but I know maths competition too because my students in the last years took always part to. Those are the ones I know directly and my students were highly motivated to partecipate.

As the link above shows in Italy there is a science fairs called "I giovani e le scienze". Moreover, every school has the autonomy to organise a science event like the week of the science. In this event could be possible invite expert, realise seminary and at the same time organize competition for the student.

In my country there are many STEM events, at a regional level (Feria de la Ciencia y Tecnología de Castilla y León), at national level (Science in Action). In these events the young people and teachers participate with their investigations. In addition, universities organize events in which they publicize the careers they offer (Aula, Unitour).

There are many science fairs in Turkey (Maker fair, World Robot Olympics, First Lego League, STEM events sharing ... just to talk about them).
I prefer these as less competitive and more affordable.
