A lesson I've been learning throughout my life is that things are constantly changing. Moving homes and towns many times throughout my childhood has taught me to make the best out of whatever situation I'm in, because things won't always be the same. It has also helped me to be more adaptable to new situations I am put in or that I put myself in.

Doing the same thing everyone else is doing is something I have always questioned. I think it's important to understand why you're doing something instead of just doing it out of fear of not fitting in. A small way I have demonstrated this is when I got rid of my phone. Social Media specifically is very addicting, and distracts many people from working on/doing things they are passionate about. I was tired of having a social media "addiction" holding me back from other aspects of life, so I chose to stop doing what everyone my age was doing just because it had been handed to me.

I am grateful for my guidance counselor Mrs. Cali because she encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone. When I came to Oyster Bay I was very nervous to include myself in activities but Mrs. Cali encouraged me to join various sports and clubs, which really helped meet new people and provided me with many positive experiences.

Coming to Oyster Bay High School led to my personal growth. Before I joined this school I was doing school online and I was having trouble doing my work along with my mental well being. Deciding to come to public school helped my academic and mental health growth.
