My dad is more democratic and listens to input but sometimes he is authoritarian when he is with my mom. However, in regards to my own, there is a disparity between the households; Of course, stemming from having divorced parents. My father's household, clings hard to the Authoritarian doctrine, which is perpetuated and exemplified by the head of the house (Step-Mother). On the other end we have my mother's house, which is successfully implementing a Laissez-faire parenting style. Personally, I believe that this sort of parenting style lets the child develop his own individualized understanding of right and wrong, while also learning respect of other's expectations if paired with the Authoritative at an earlier age. If they grew up with the democratic style that evolved into the permissive as they passed into higher forms of cognitive development, then they will have a better sense of respect and responsibility. That is, better than if they are merely told, and not convinced nor taught, morality; as is with Authoritarian styles of parenting.
