You can take everyday life stressors and see it as another life battle or take it as a teachable moment. However, when life becomes overwhelming, it is important to take a step back and prioritize what is important in your life. What I do to prevent burnout is I make a list of achievable short and long-term goals, and take baby steps to achieve them. For example, after I complete my school studies, a goal of mine is to take a long well deserved trip. In order, to prevent daily burnout, I like to keep myself busy by incorporating fun things in my life such as a weekend trip, DIY project, attending a social function or watching a good movie. However, what really grounds me is my pet beagle “Duchess” who has sat patiently next to me as I’ve worked on my school studies every night for the last past year.
