Birth: October 2, 1869
Death: January 30, 1948
Origin: Porbandar, India

During his life, Mohandas Gandhi fought non-violently for peace. Great Britain ruled over India, and Gandhi led fasting, boycotts, and other peaceful protests to show the nation's discontent with their treatment. He went to school and became a lawyer, always arguing that peace and equality were best. India's poorest classes were often treated poorly, and Gandhi fought for better treatment. He also worked toward peace between Hindus and Muslims. He was assassinated in 1948 in Delhi.

Mohandas Gandhi deserves to be on this list because he had a massive impact on India and the rest of the world. He showed the world how war is not always the best solution and that peaceful protests can convey a message to other people. During Gandhi's life and after, he helped to free India from Great Britain's rules and was known as a symbol of peace and equality among all people. His fights for equality between all religions, especially Hindus and Muslims, taught the world that one religion does not have to rule over others, but that all religions can live peacefully.

During his reign, he broke the treaty of Versailles, which lead to World War II. As a powerful and persuasive speaker, Hitler was able to convince the people of Germany that all nations that he considered "German" should be united with Germany. He eventually created the idea that Jews were not to be German citizens and should be kicked out of Germany. This lead to the Holocaust, which was the mass killing of Jews.

Adolf Hitler deserves to be second on this list because he had an extremely large impact on the whole world. He greatly helped Germany's economy and allowed them to recover from World War I. He also lead Germany during World War II.
