Hii hello and assalamualaikum! My name is Nuramalia Batrisyia Binti Md Noor. I prefer to be called Ama or Amalia as many people have mispronounced my name a bunch of times. The second half of my name, Batrisyia, is rarely used because to be frank sometimes I forgot that it's there and if anyone tries to call me Batrisyia, often times I wouldn't respond to them because I would legitimately forget that it is indeed my name.

I am 22 years old this year and was born in 2000 on the 10th of July. I live in Kuala Lumpur, Kampung Baru all my life but I am lucky enough to have a hometown in Melaka, Alor gajah that I would visit occasionally. In a way, I feel like I gained quite the balance of the city and country lifestyle.

I am in Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology (KICT) taking Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS) currently finishing my 2nd semester of the 1st year.

MY INTEREST

I don't really have much to talk about but I would like to share a bit of my interest and maybe a little glimpse of who 'Amalia' is.

I am a coffee lover, as shown so clearly in the choice of my e-portfolio background here. I am someone who loves to read. I would always go for novels of the mystery, thriller, horror and psychological genre rather than romance books. My current read at the moment is a mystery/detective book titled 'The Monogram Murders' by Sophie Hannah. Basically it is about a brilliant detective named Hercule Poirot who goes about trying to solve murder mysteries that boggles the casual minds. It is very much like Sherlock Holmes but their methods and deductions styles varies.

Besides that, I am also an individual who likes to sing to pass the time. Not Grammy awards worthy obviously but enough to entertain myself and not cause people to cover their ears and scrunch their faces. Other than that, I love to watch movies because of course who doesn't right? But specifically I love Disney, adventure, horror, mystery, psychological thriller, chic-lit movies, and I am a big fan of all the MARVEL and Harry Potter films. I would definitely say that those two are my comfort movies.

I would go more in-depth but then this would turn out longer than necessary so I'll stop here for now. If you'd like to get to know me better then please feel free to do so (hp: 012-9071039 :D) cause I would be honoured to get to know you in return.

Throughout the whole 7 weeks of Usrah, I have learned a lot regarding the holy Quran which I know would benefit me in the long run. From this class also, I realized that classes doesn't always have to be stressful and intense. This usrah class conducted by sister Amila is honestly one of my favourite ones as it is so laid back and enjoyable. I hope all classes would be like this but here's to hoping I guess. I've come to realized that there's a lot to be learned when it comes to the al-Quran, sunnah and hadith. It makes me want to try and be a much better version of myself, hopefully I'll be able to in the near future.

I would like to thank all usrah members from section 208, it was nice getting to know all of them. Special thanks to my fellow groupmates, group 5 (Suraya, Qis, Akma and Mira) for their outstanding cooperation and chill vibes. Most importantly, a massive gratitude to our naqibah, sister Amila, for her knowledge and guidance, and who served as one of the coolest mentor this semester.

MOVIE REVIEW (USRAH 2 TASK)

We were assigned by sr. Ayesya to watch this movie and review it in terms of the lessons that we might gain from the movie or just anything related to it that we might find insightful. I must say that the movie caught me by surprise at first since I had no idea that an individual could even think to produce an anime-style movie based on an actual event in Islamic history that we Muslims have grown to hear about. It was genuinely a nice shock for me. Regarding the film itself and the lesson I've learnt, I feel like the creator of The Journey told the story really well and made it entertaining. The value that stuck with me is when Aws and his fellow brother-in-arms were not afraid to face Abrahah's army even when it was clear that Abrahah's army was no match compared to Aws's. Even then, Aws and all the people that were fighting alongside him did not falter and were determined to defend the holy Ka'aba from Abrahah's wrath. Their determination, bravery and persistence even when facing death in the face just so that they could protect the Ka'aba were undoubtedly inspiring to me.
