I feel very grateful to hear my brothers and sisters in CLC - their experiences leave my heart burning with the fire of God’s love. We all face challenges but together we can face the future with hope and build a bright day in relationship with God, each other, and creation tomorrow and for the time to come. I was especially moved by sharing about leadership and how we can lead in a relaxed manner, taking on responsibility in a servant leader style with trust in God. God is with us!

A heartwarming experience of feeling vulnerable and open to accept a reaching hand, but also strong enough to offer a helping hand. As long as we have Christ and each other, we will be okay!

What does sakura tree teach me today?

I was mesmerized by the sight of this sakura tree a while ago. Many people, myself especially, are expecting the sakura flowers to fully bloom. Yet it takes a lot of patience to see it and admire its beauty. I can resonate with this feeling of anticipation and patient trust of the future knowing that God has plans for each of us and for CLC community. He is as actively working with us and within us for a harmonious and better world. I am invited to surrender and let God be God in my life, and in the CLC community. This is what the sakura tree teaches me today.

God loves us even though we’re not perfect, and we have freedom to respond God’s calling in our own identities, through collaboration with Jesuits, serving the church with our potential, mending the broken relationships between people and the world. In the light of the Holy Spirit, we are energised to change ourselves and seek hope in the midst of darkness, so we can go further and further, without end.

We maintain a delicate balance of effort and grace: our communities are all fragile. They could easily fall apart if not for our efforts of love (which is God's gift) and God's grace to bring fruit to our efforts. Some might say this is a foolish effort, a waste of energy. But all of creation, every ecosystem is in a fragile state of balancing between life and death.
