Christmas for Western culture is perhaps the most important holiday of the year. This is the best time to enjoy the company of friends and family. But in addition to the symbols that we know well, such as gifts, Christmas also has a religious meaning: on Christmas day the birth of Jesus Christ is celebrated.

The birth of Jesus Christ dates back to around the years 0-4 and his birth on Earth is celebrated on December 25th. However, for the Eastern Orthodox Churches this holiday falls on January 6, the day on which the Western Christian Church celebrates the Epiphany , the manifestation of Jesus before the Magi.

The tradition of decorating the Christmas tree has its roots and origins in ancient Egypt. Here, during the cult of the Sun, it was customary to decorate a pyramid. This tradition was then also taken up by the people of the north who, obviously, not having a pyramid at their disposal, replaced it with a fir tree. Decorating the Christmas tree by enriching it with colored lights symbolizes, as in the cult of the Sun, the light of life.
