The Information wall should contain the following:

-Identify The Ten Commandments of Computer Ethics

-Insert possible resources (e.g. images, videos, sound) that would aid people in complying with these rules.

-Address the following questions within this information wall.

Q1. Which of the Ten Ethical Computing Guidelines do you think students violate most often?

Q2. Why do you think these violations occur?

Q3. What do you think could be done to reduce or eliminate such unethical behavior?

I think that students often break the very first commandment of not using a computer to harm other people. I know and have experienced cyber bullying rising through my middle school and high school years. We have seen some cases get so bad, that the victim ends up taking their own life. Some research statistics I found: -More than 1 in 3 young people have experienced cyber threats online.

-Over 25 percent of adolescents and teens have been bullied repeatedly through their cell phones or the Internet.

-Well over half of young people do not tell their parents when cyber bullying occurs.
-Fewer than 1 in 5 cyber bullying incidents are reported to law enforcement

Overall, you can see that cyber bullying is something that occurs quite often. I would definitely say that commandment 1 is the most violated because of the prevalence of Cyber bullying in this world today.

These violations often occur because people in this world are cowards and never settle anything face to face. This generation now has a habit of talking badly about people over the internet. Ever since I was in middle school, the idea of Cyber bullying has really been on the rise. People are so quick to use a computer or other electronic device to harm people because it is quick and easy. Also, with some sites now, you can comment on others post anonymously and make fun of them. These violations most of the time come down to people being irresponsible and acting before thinking. People nowadays think that if you do it from a computer, it is therefore impossible to get caught. When it reality, your comments never actually get deleted, which makes you more detectable.

I feel that the only way to reduce or eliminate this unethical behavior is to place larger punishments on offenders of these guidelines. People are never going to stop breaking these guidelines if they only get a slap on the wrist. There needs to be a rough enough punishment that people are going to completely stop committing these horrible acts. It is really unfortunate that we even have to address something this fundamental to human beings. People should just be able to realize that what they are doing is wrong, therefore they need to stop! Another way you could try to stop this behavior is by preaching the importance of ethic and the idea of what "goes around comes around". I am a heavy believer in karma, so that would honestly scare me. However, I don't bully people because I see no reason to pick on people for things they can't control.
