My 8th grade graduation represents the Call to Adventure in the Hero's Journey because I was told to go to high school so that I can learn. I was uneasy and reluctant to go, but after some thinking I knew it was my destiny to attend high school. I had to learn from a mentor like my parents and brother so that I could be ready when I leave my known world of middle school and venture into a place I was unfamiliar of.

Crossing the Threshold for me in the Hero's Journey is transferring from middle school to high school because I knew little of it. There was a lot i did not know but after meeting with new and old friends I gained more courage and wisdom. I also seeked knowledge and got tips from my mentors that were my teachers and my older brother that has gone through this journey.

Finals week is the abyss in my Hero's Journey because it is the deepest, darkest, and hardest part in my journey where I have to face the shadow or test for me, and I worked hard all semester for this moment so that I can be succesful. I was challenged by the shadow, which was finals week. It tested me seeing if i would give up and I almost did.

Homework, tests, and quizzes are my threshold guardians in school because they are small portions of my semester that test me seeing if I know enough or if I will break and give up. They are threshold guardians because they are not too challenging and they are really just tests that will start my journey and help train myself. After I finished these I had to face the real threat that I was preparing all semester for.
