Infrared radiation is mostly not harmful. If the radiation is pointed to a human, unlike the other radiations, infrared will make the molecules move but not break them or cause damage. Mostly if its pointed towards somebody they would just feel a bit warmer. Just like fire!

Uses!

The new technologies allows Infrared cameras in cars to help the driver at night, for better vision to

improve safety. Infrared cameras are also used for security at malls,

banks and etc. Infrared cameras are also used in different types of warfare: battle ships,

jets, war crafts and spying drones. It is also used for disease control for such as 'fever screening system'

at airports. Strong infrared cameras are being used for space discovery and to see some of

the galaxy's stars that are not visible. Sometimes its also used for studying animals and creatures.

Descovery

Sir William Herschel discovered infrared around 1800. He discovered it when he split the colors of sunlight using a prism. He placed several thermometers on each color and after left it for a while. He came back and found out that the thermometer which was slightly moved away from red; had the highest temperature of all the colors. He noticed that there must be more light beyond the color red, but its not visible!
