When building my own company i will need a team of people with specific roles in order to help organise my business easier.
These include:

Artist
  • Musician, singer or rapper that performs and records vocals on my songs at different events to create an audience
Manager
  • Will negotiatee contracts with artists lawyers and accountants
  • represent artists in all business environments
Lawyer
  • is responsible for advising the manager artist on all offers/contracts
  • music/property/litigation lawyers are all important when things become uncertain in the business
Promoters and Distributors
  • Organises and publicises events, concerts and projects (ep,album, mixtape ect.) with agents and tour managers
  • distributors enables recorded music to be obtained by the consumers. companies sign deals with record labels which give them the right to sell that label's products. 
  • The distributor takes a cut of income from each unit sold and then pays the label the remaining balance.
Tour manager
  • Organises tour locations and marketing with agents
  • Makes sure the artists arrive at hotels and venues safely during their tour
  • works with promoters and venue managers
Agent
  • has the authority to make key decisions for the company
  • scouts for new talented artists at places like gigs to work in our business
  • arranges events and concerts with other companies negotiating costs ect.
Accountant
  • Prepares accounting records and financial statements
  • compute taxes owed to other businesses and prepares tax returns
  • analyses trends, costs in the data and reports to management

  • you get to work for yourself and manage your own team
  • Its a private organisation meaning the you have maximum privacy
  • its easy to rearrange your legal structure.
Disadvantages of a sole trader
  • you have liability in debts as theres no legal distinction between private and business assets
  • your capacity to raise capital is limited

  • Responsible for all losses and business decisions
Advantages of a Ltd company
  • pay less taxes through your personal account as profits are subject to corporation tax at 21%
  • your business is separate from its owners and is more distinct
  • you have limited liability meaning that the company can afford to protect you from any losses
  • creates a more professional and credible images larger companies will be more likely to work with you than sole traders
  • transferring the ownership of the business is far easier
Disadvantages of a Ltd company
  • The downfalls of working in a limited company is all when it comes to taxation. With this your taxes are all payed out of your business account with means you'll have t keep track of every payment made
  • Limited companies also have very public information which can me shared with everyone

When working for yourself, you have a tax free allowance when earning up to £11,850 a year. 

When working, your employer will take it from your wages before you get paid. Your payslip will show your contributions. Furthermore, if you’re a director of a limited company, you may also be your own employee and pay Class 1 National Insurance through your PAYE payroll. 

You pay National Insurance with your tax. If you are self-employed you pay classes 2 and 4 national insurance, depending on your profits. Most people pay both through self assessment.
  •  Class 4 you must calculate the amount you owe based on your profit, 
  • Class 2 you must pay an amount based on a fixed rate charge.

3. Create my own sound and record artists to make projects such as Eps,   albums ect

6. Continue to branch out and work with as many people in the industry. 

Career Goals
My career goals are to create a well established brand in my name.
Create great content for my social media fanbase to love and enjoy.
To make music that is appreciated by my fans and for millions of people to enjoy around the world.

Schedules are just as important because not only does it make more organised as a freelancer, but it creates a more professional image. So for example, i would schedule when i have mixing sessions with a specific client (be it an artist or a producer) and i will take notes of this on my calendar. This will therefore make more aware of the things that i have planned.

  • speak and network with people in the industry by going to music events such as gigs, shows, concerts and even open mic so you can show people who you are and what you do.
  • Create an inner circle i.e group chats where you can ask friends to share your work on their social media pages.
  • Collaborating with artists and other producers is great because it enables you to connect with their fans as well as your own when providing new content
  • Previews and snippets are also really useful ways to tease your fans with your latest work
  • contact people working in other communities such as youtubers who can use your tracks as background or intro/outro music.
  • You can also run a reaction campaign where a youtuber (with loyal followers) would react to your music with link to your page/website in the description.
  • Give your music out to influencers online who have a big fanbase who will promote your music
  • Its always important to keep your fans engaged and hyped up for your next release. Create a schedule in their minds so they are constantly aware of when your latest track will be arriving. This means that you can promote your work weeks before its even released.

    He started out by making his first $100 by playing the piano at an event at the age of 13. His career began when his manager signed him to become a member of the small and upcoming band named 'the roots' in 1991.

    But that wasn't enough, he wanted to explore more music as he believed that he wanted to be more than the "guy who played the keys in the roots." So he decided to step away and become a producer creating his own sound.
    After leaving LA to Florida he started networking by going to gigs and chasing artists
    Later worked with the likes of Dr Dre, Beyonce, Jay Z, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Timberland and is now a pioneer in the music industry with hi influence of Neo soul and Hip hop jazz.

    Although Scott's success originated in a different time, his path can be similar to somewhat like myself because i wish to gain experience
