this has been a slogan for him since the start of his career he shares the slogan with Kanye west and MGM records. MGM records is a large record company that supports many aspiring young black artists. Kanye and Cudi have worked together since they both started making music, this adds to ethos by giving the song and lyrics more credibility due to the large figures behind the meaning of the slogan

cudi says this to lift spirits, he does so by explaining that you should live life in the moment and you will be the happiest you can be. the meaning of him saying that hes missed some bullets is that he has made it through tough times/hardships in his life such as drug overdose and suicide. Cudi tries to extend his feelings to the listeners by creating a vague situation that allows more people to connect to.

this is a reference to Cudi's childhood, his father passed away in his sleep while Cudi was young, in result of this Cudi was afraid to sleep because he thought when you slept you died. He explains that he has night terrors every night and wakes up sweating while looking at the sky, he says this because he wakes up terrified thinking he has died due to drugs or emotional stress.
