One of the activities that we were presented with included a creative drawing task. I displayed my creative abilities by embracing the random black dot and using it to draw a superhero. I drew this superhero as I am aiming to achieve my personal best just like a hero and also is a motif for the person I am (I am a very cool guy).

I also learned about my peers and teacher.

I was absent for most of this week due to being sick and also the swimming carnival. During this week we developed ideas for our spin-off project and ended up choosing a product and video to promote teen exercise. We chose this problem as we believe it affects a lot of young adolescents. Furthermore, we did our empathy maps and also developed further ideas as well as a user profile that highlighted the importance of our product and gave other information about people who need exercise.

Our website has a leaderboard with points that can motivate you to be more active and step outside your comfort zone. Further, this week we also starting upon making the script. We decided to sort some roles and what we would say to try and advertise our website for new users.

In this project, we were tasked with making a product, website or application that could assist with a real-world problem that people have to face. We got into our groups and decided that we were going to do pollution, as it is a very widely spoken topic that many people are educated about.

After contemplating many ideas, we decided it would be more fun if we did a topic and idea that we were all passionate about, so we picked physical activity in teens. Did you know? More than 20% of Australian Teens are not getting the recommended amount of physical activity per week. This may be due to a lack of motivation or not knowing what to do to stay active. From our research, we concluded that people who are not active often lack motivation and knowledge, we then decided to make a website with free activities and challenges that would allow users to feel accomplished when completing our tasks. This would be beneficial as it is a free site that can give motivation and tips for people who are trying to improve themselves. Adding a leaderboard would also add to the competitive fire. Furthermore, with our free sign-up, it is very hard to turn down such an amazing way to get back into shape and get fit.

We started brainstorming with other peers, as we were going to first create a physical product but found out that it would not be very practical, so instead we decided to create a website so that everyone can access it for free and there is no financial investment required to start it. A challenge met was the lack of people in our group who were present. We had to substitute roles and also had to voice over rather than film due to the lack of people in our group. Overall, we got the video done at the end.

Finally, we met on Wednesday and filmed the advert to advertise the website to everyone. Overall, our group bonded well, learning from mistakes and picking up on ideas as we progressed through this assignment. In conclusion, this summative task helped us build character, communication and critical and creative thinking as we all came up with different intuitive ideas that could solve our problems and communicated effectively to come up with the best possible solutions.

Some feedback we got from peers included: Adding a person being interviewed about fitness instead of having a black screen with online images and another classmate sad that the video content was good but just lacked creative insight and should have utilised our group members to cover the black spaces in the video.

To help redesign my partner's school experience, many steps were taken to assist in the improvement of his education. I had to first interview the subject, where I asked many questions such as what he enjoys at school and what he struggles with during school. Some ideas we came up with were:

This interview with Joseph showed a lot about his character. He is a chill fun guy, who likes his classmates and classes and enjoys the freedom of lunchtime. Some problems that he faces include not being able to stay organised through his rough and tight schedule. Further, he thinks that lunch is not long enough to help with his organisational skills as well as his social skills. This means that he wanted me to improve this aspect of school. He wanted a longer lunch to pursue his hobbies of soccer and chilling with friends. In his spare time, he likes to play games.

I saw that my subject had little time during lunch to organise and socialise with friends, and he also stated that he did not have enough time to go from class to class. This led me to sketch some ideas and plan some thoughts that can help improve his experience.

Some ideas that I came up with include:

From this mindmap, we saw that Joseph was restricted to a very short lunch due to his tight schedule. He had constraints of not having the power to change his problems, which led to it influencing his organisation and social skills. After we finished adding to the empathy map, we did gallery walks, adding notes to each other's ideas and once we returned, we saw some insightful ideas, and then implemented some into the mindmap. One idea that stood out was to try to extend the lunch period or give a longer time to get from lunch to the next lesson. Other notes include assisting with my problems and some less valuable insights.

During the next lesson, we had to draw each other's solutions, where I drew the extended lunch period and also let us have longer to get from lunch to lesson. This was because if this was possible, this idea would be the most practical and simple solution to solve many of Joseph’s current problems revolving around his tight schedule and lack of time to socialise.

After this, we had to include a new member in the group, which led to us having an extra problem to draw about.

The first term of the action project is slowly coming to a close, so I want to take the time to reflect on the activities, tasks and ideas we had along the way. I also would like to reflect on my actions, character building and showcase of the 5C's across these 11 weeks. From the beginning, I was always a good communicator, however, once we got into pairs we had to not only be able to share our ideas and troubles but also represent them creatively and listen to the other person's ideas. This was an area of improvement since the term's start, as I often lacked creative insights and idea generation. After completing the early tasks of drawing our ideas on paper rather than just typing it up and leaving it, we drew some innovative ideas, with a lot of imagination. After this, my horizons have expanded, allowing me to think more creatively, generating ideas that can be utilised for the second task, our spin-off project.
