         <title>Abrasion</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Abrasion is where the top layers of the skin are teared off.</p><p><br/></p><p>First when caring make sure to wash your hands with soap and water to prevent any bacteria being spread to the Wound. Next apply direct pressure to the wound to prevent further bleeding, using a clean cloth is a popular method applying direct pressure on the wound</p><p>After make sure to clean the wound, try to wash around the wound and not in the wound as that could make the infection worse, use soap and water when cleaning the wound.</p><p>Then apply Ointment which can prevent any scarring of the wound.</p><p>Then make sure to try to cover the wound, potentially use a  non-stick bandage to cover the wound.</p><p>After all of these steps, make sure you remove a bandage and apply a new bandage to the wound. </p><p><br/></p><p>The post care needed is to make sure to monitor the wound, constantly change bandages every day, and to clean the wound consistently.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <title>Laceration</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p> A laceration is a wound caused by a sharp object, a laceration is usually a deep wound which often bleeds heavily.</p><p><br></p><p>First you have to make sure to control the bleeding, maintain direct pressure on the wound for around 5 to 10 minutes. If the blood keeps gushing then apply more layers of cloths to help control the bleeding. After, elevate the wound above the heart while continuing to maintain pressure on the wound. If  the wound is uncontrollable and is too deep, then call for emergency services using 911 as the main option. After putting pressure on the wound, try to clean the wound with soap and water, avoid cleaning in the wound but around the wound. Then try to add ointment to the wound which can help prevent scarring, and then cover the wound with a bandage. </p><p><br></p><p>Post care for a laceration wound is to clean gently around the wound, try to keep the wound dry, and replace a bandage if you are permitted by a doctor.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>A wound created by a surgeon using a cutting object, which is to claim tissue for a operation or medical procedure.</p><p><br></p><p>First you have to wash your hands with soap and water, then clean around the wound with soap and water. Then with a cloth, pat the incision which is to dry the skin. Then after apply dressing onto the wound and make sure to never reuse the same dressing twice. Make sure with gloves, place all supplies in a bag and the throw away into the trash, then remove gloves and gloves and thoroughly wash your hands. Make sure to always constantly examine the wound to see if there are any infections occurring.</p><p><br></p><p>Post care action is to make sure the wound is dry, always monitor if any infections occur, and to always follow the directions your healthcare provider gives you when it is comes to dressing changes.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>A puncture wound is a deep, narrow wound caused by a sharp object, which cuts through the skin.</p><p><br/></p><p>The first step to treating a puncture wound is to wash your hands with soap and water. Then try to control the bleeding by applying direct pressure to the wound. Then clean around the wound with soap and water, and keep in mind not to scrub right into the wound.  Then add ointment to prevent any scarring. Then try to apply a bandage to cover the wound. After all of this make sure every day to change the bandage. If the wound is showing signs of infections, bleeding uncontrollably, or is extremely, make sure to call emergency services.</p><p><br/></p><p>The post care for a puncture wound is to make sure the wound is dry using soap and water, and then cover the wound. This should be done on a daily basis.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Avulsion is a injury where the skin is forcibly torn off, which could be any part of the body.</p><p><br></p><p>First what you are supposed to do is apply direct pressure to the wound to control the bleeding. Then try to rinse around the wound with water and soap. Mild soap is best advised when cleaning wounds. Then apply ointment which can help prevent an infection from occurring. After applying ointment, cover the wound with a bandage which can protect the wound from potential contamination. For an avulsion wound, it is best advised to put the person with the injury on a pillow which can help reduce swelling problems. If none of these methods work, and here are signs of infections or the wound is too deep, then contact medical attention.</p><p><br></p><p>The post care needed for an avulsion wound is to keep the wound clean, apply mild soap and water around the wound to keep the wound dry. Pain medicine prescription by a doctor can be used and avoiding any physical contacts is recommended so the wound can heal. A crucial action to take is to always continue to examine the wound to see if any infections are occurring.</p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <title>Contusion</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>A contusion is a direct blow which causes blood vessels to break apart which damages blood vessels without having to break the skin.</p><p><br></p><p>For the Contusion wound, you use the RICE method:</p><p><br></p><p>First you stop any activity you are doing which could potentially damage the injury more, which if resting can prevent the injury from getting worse.</p><p>Then try to apply an ice pack in a towel to the wound for around 15+ minutes. You should do this constantly for the first 2 days to prevent any type of swelling.</p><p>Then use compression by wrapping the wound with a bandage, make sure the wrapping is not to lose but also not too tight either, so that an increase in swelling does not occur.</p><p>Last elevate the wound above the heart, you can use a pillow to help the person up which can help prevent the increase of swelling. If swelling continues to occur and an infection is spreading then go seek medical attention immediately.</p><p><br></p><p>The post care for a contusion wound is to take pain medicine prescripted by a doctor if needed, always constantly checking to see if any infection are occuring, and keeping the wound clean to prevent any infections.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Hematoma</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>A puddle of pooled blood which is formed  from a blood vessel, which is caused by an injury that damages the blood vessel, which makes bleeding run into surrounding tissues.</p><p><br></p><p>The initial care for a hematoma wound is to use the RICE method.</p><p>First you make sure to rest, which is making sure you don't overwork the injured area and prevent the injury from getting worse. You are supposed to let the wound heal by resting.</p><p>Next is to apply Ice to the wound several times a day, do this for 15+minutes for the next two days.</p><p>After making sure to apply a soft bandage to the wound to help reduce swelling, make sure the bandage is not wrapped too tight  so circulation doesn't get blocked.</p><p>At the end make sure to elevate the victim above the level of heart, this can help reduce swelling. If the injury becomes more severe, then seek medical attention immediately as an infection may occur.</p><p><br></p><p>The Post care for an Hematoma wound is for the next two days to apply ice to the wound for 15 minutes several times a day for the next two days. Also, continue to monitor any infections that may occur. If a doctor prescribes you with a pain relief medicine then it is okay to use the medicine to reduce pain. If you feel the pain is extreme and untolerable for you, then proceed with seeking medical attention.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>An Burn wound is a is a damaged tissue caused by heat, electricity, and radiation which results in the death of the cell.</p><p><br></p><p>The first step for a burn wound is to move you and the victim away from the source the burn was caused from. Then get cool water, not cold water, on the wound for 15 minutes.Then make sure to remove and jewelry or items the victim has on them which can help prevent an increase in swelling.  Last make sure to cover the wound with a clean non-stick bandage to help keep the area clean. If the injury worsens such as the wound gets deeper, swells, gets infected, or has unbearable pain then seek medical attention immediately.</p><p><br></p><p>The post care for a burn wound is to apply vera  which can help smoothen the area, but apply while the wound is healing. Also using pain medicine is okay if prescribed by a medical professional. Using lotion is okay to use as well which can help moisturize the skin. Last is to continue always checking to see if the wound is getting worse, see if any infections are occurring or if the pain gets worse. If so if an infection occurs or the pain becomes unbearable, seek medical attention immediately.</p>]]></description>

The proper steps for caring is to apply soap to palm, and then rub on both hands, make sure to get under your nails, back and front of all fingers, and also get a little bit of soap on your wrists as well. Then turn the sink on and thoroughly  rinse your hands with water for about 20-25 seconds. Then turn off the sink now with your bare hands but with a towel to avoid getting contamination again. Then proceed in calling emergency services as medical treatment is needed. The victim could be pale, sweaty, unconscious, confused, and potential swelling that could occur. The steps to take for this situation is to first ensure the surroundings of the area are clear and safe so you can safely help the victim. Then apply direct pressure with a cloth to the wound, make sure to use both hands when applying pressure. If the blood soaks through the first cloth, then apply more cloths to backup the first cloth, also when adding another layer, do not remove the original cloth. Then elevate the wound above the level of the victim's heart. Usually for dressing changes, a minor cut will need a couple of dressing changes while a major cut will need a dressing change more often. If a dressing becomes to loose, causes an infection, causes pain, has redness, and swelling occurs, these are all reasons to change a dressing.</p>]]></description>
