We've only ever explored 5-7% of our oceans, and we're still finding new places, new things, and new ceatures to this day. Traveling in space can take months, possibly years, just for someone to get to the closest planet. Being in an enclosed space for too long can really mess with someone's mental health, which can make it so they can't do their job and get the work done, and bad mental health can eventually be not only harmful for the brain and mind, but for the body as well. With bad mental health, people tend to not take care of themselves which can be very dangerous and life-threatening at some points. Even when people come back from space they still experience that bad mindset. Being in space in general can cause so many different things, such as, possibly, memory loss and problems in that department.
