The person who made this picture used a form of travesty to present it to the public. Travesty is the act of presenting a serious topic in a lighthearted manner. This is picture is a form of travesty because the author used labs to represent people's lives. The author used labs to show people that he believes that the movement is a joke. He is motivated to get a laugh out of people in order to display that the movement does not mean much to him.

The video that is presented uses malapropism to help the viewer understand the severity of the Black Lives Matter movement. Malapropism is used when the waiter says "just ice" as justice to the black kid. The waiter in the video represents a cop The producer is motivated by making fun of the movement perhaps to show the viewer how important the movement is to blacks.

He compares the Black Lives Matter protests to the Ku Klux Klan members. This picture is considered a parody because the Ku Klux Klan kills blacks, but because the author said "THE NEW KLAN WITH A TAN" he is referring to the black people going after the white people making a "NEW KLAN."The motivation was to present the movement in a playful, joking manner in order for the viewer to grasp how violent to movement has become,

Black Lives Matter is a popular movement that all began after the death of Trayvon Martin. Trayvon Martin was a young black male who was killed because the “self-appointed neighborhood watch captain” had a bad feeling about Mr. Martin (“Why…”). This 2012 tragedy has led to the Black Lives Matter social movement that is happening today. The movement is trying to achieve a world in which black lives are no longer deliberately targeted for false accusations (Garza).

It all started in 2012 when a young African American male by the name of Trayvon Martin was making his way on foot to the convenience store to retrieve something to drink for himself and his brother’s fiance’. George Zimmerman, “the self-appointed neighborhood watch captain,” thought he was doing otherwise (“Why…”). Mr. Zimmerman shot Trayvon because he felt as if Trayvon Martin was being “suspicious” and that he was “up to no good” (“Why…”). Despite the amount of evidence the law enforcement has disputed, this incident caused an outbreak that is still causing problems to this day.

As time goes by, more and more individuals are backing the movement. Perhaps some celebrities seem to be hesitant to voice their opinion on controversial topics, possibly due to the fact that they have a large amount of influence on their fans. However, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul do not seem to care about losing fans for voicing what they believe in. These four men stand with the movement and even supported it publicly at the ESPY Award ceremony.

Black Lives Matter began with the killing of Trayvon Martin, and over time this movement continues working toward eliminating the blame and serious racial actions toward the African-American race. Black Lives Matter seems to be becoming more popular due to the number of people supporting the movement. Ones backing the movement are attempting to change the stereotype or the perspective that Americans have about the African-American race.

“Why Was Trayvon Martin Shot and Killed by George Zimmerman .” Hub Pages, VVeasey Publishing , 2012,

hubpages.com/politics/why-was-trayvon-martin-shot-and-killed-by-george-zimmerman.

He included the star on the bottom of the sign to infer there is more detail to the sign. By looking at the footnote the author included, the reader can see how the author feels about the movement. This picture is considered sarcasm because the movement is trying to portray that black lives matter all the time, not just when killed by whites. The author tried to poke fun at the Black Lives Matter movement to say that black lives matter if killed by whites because that is the reason the movement started.

I chose to do my satire board project over the Black Lives Matter movement. This is something happening in the world we live in today. The Black Lives Matter movement interests me because it is a very controversial topic, and a conversation about the movement could go either way; many people are very sensitive about this topic. Therefore, a satire would help people better understand the difference in beliefs.
