Some of the goods were molasses, rum, iron, beer, clothes, etc. Everything that was traded was traded between North American, South America, Africa and Great Britain. The slaves were kidnapped from villages, the kidnappers would hold the enslaved people until a slave ship arrived. The slave ship would then take the slaves on the middle passage. The middle passage was the stage where slaves were shipped to the New World to be slaves on plantations.

The war started in 1756 and lasted until 1763. France had expanded into the Ohio River Valley, Great Britain did not like this because they wanted to have control over the Ohio River Valley Fur Trade. They then started battle. In July 1758, the British won their first great victory, one month later they took Fort Frontenac. They then closed in on Quebec. In September 1760, the French lost Canada. Finally, in 1763, British received Canada from France and Florida from Spain

It also made it illegal to move west and settle. The British used this as a way to save money. They didn't have to pay for soldiers to protect the colonists from Indian attacks. Some of the colonists had already moved west, they needed more land to farm.
Quartering Acts: The Quartering Acts were put in place in 1765. The act said that the colonist had to supply soldiers with food, candles, firing, bedding, quarters/housing, salt, vinegar, beer/cider and cooking utensil. The British didn't want to pay for the soldiers, so they created this act to put on the colonist. The colonist felt like the Quartering Act was like the Stamp Act. New York said no to this act and New Jersey protested.
Intolerable Acts: The Intolerable Acts were put in place in 1774. This act closed the Boston Harbor to all shipping, the Government was under complete control, British soldiers were tried in England and more troops were sent to Boston to inforce these laws. The British were mad about the Boston Tea Party so they created these laws to punish Massachusetts. The colonists tried to come up with a peaceful solution to the conflicts. They were very mad about all of the acts.

The fact that they were willing to give up their lives just to defend the idea of a country based on liberty and democracy. Another strength is the Americans received help from overseas, the French secretly aided the Americans during war. The final strength was their commander, General George Washington. He was more than an experienced military leader, he was a man who inspired courage and confidence.
American Weaknesses: The Continental Army was always short of men. General George Washington never had more than 20,000 troops at one time. Few Americans were trained for battles. Some of the soldiers were hunters, they were able to shoot well, but when it came to facing a group of redcoats, they were likely to turn and run. The army suffered from shortages. Guns and gunpowder were so rare that Benjamin Franklin suggested that they should arm themselves with bows and arrows.

The British were trying to keep control of Boston and its sea ports. During this battle the Americans fought back for the first two, but on the third they were forced to retreat. At the end of the battle British had gained both hills, but many soldiers died. 
Battle of Saratoga: The Battle of Saratoga took place on September 19, 1775, the battle took place on John Freeman's farm and at Bemis Heights, New York. When the battle at John Freeman's farm took place, the British took control of the farm. When the battle at Bemis Heights took place, the British surrendered 10 days later. This battle was a major turning point in the American Revolution because the American's morale was boosted. The country felt like they could win the war. They also gained French allies.
Battle of Yorktown: The Battle of Yorktown took place on October 14, 1781, the battle took place at Yorktown, Virginia. This battle was the last great battle of the American Revolution. The Americans won easily due to outnumbering the British soldiers.

Some African Americans were loyal to the British while others were patriots. Some even being spies. The British offered African American to fight with them, they offered freedom in return. After the war many got what they were promised but soon found out that they were still not equal.
