I am also putting myself on a budget for setting up my fish tank, so I don't go overboard. I decided to get a sponge filter because they are pretty inexpensive and not only filter the tank but also increase the dissolved oxygen levels in the aquarium. I also decided to add sand to the bottom of the tank, so the fish will have an easy time getting food that's fallen. I choose to get mollies because I want a relatively easy fish to take care of. They also get along with plenty of other fish.
