         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Romanticism emphasised the individual, emotions, subjectivity and irrationality. It focuses on the beauties of nature, and the idea of emotion over reason. It encouraged a creative spirit within individuals and to reject formal rules and traditional procedures.&nbsp;<br><br>- It was a reaction against the 18th century enlightenment of rationality and logic. Romanticism rejects the ideas of order, rationality, calmness and idealisation&nbsp;<br><br>- Romanticism in English literature began in the 1790’s with the publication of of the ‘Lyrical Ballads’ by William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Wordsworths preface to ‘Lyrical Ballads’ in which he described poetry as the “spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings” started the English romantic movement in poetry.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
