I have produced a number of tributes to my failures. While sometimes the idea I have ends up working the way I want, often times it does not. I usually end up with a less interesting and not as fun version of what I thought the students would do. Luckily we have a tech integrator position at our school, where we have a teacher in the building whose sole responsibility is to support teachers with integrating meaningful technology into their curriculum, so I have some support in the classroom if I try something new. I tried to jump into some of the tech early on and because very good with our LMS (Schoology) and how to navigate some websites. Then we went to ipads and I was lost. I had not used an apple product since high school as science is a PC world. I find myself struggling to stay on top of what is going on and how to make the technology do what I know it is supposed to be doing. I really want to better understand what tools are out there, and how they can help support the awesome stuff our teachers do in their classrooms. I am already excited to see the Teacher's Guide to Tech by Jennifer Gonzalez! When I read her introduction about it being a searchable document that organized and highlighted usable tech I realized that this is a tool I've been needing! My team and I will come up with an idea and be like, huh, now, how do we DO That? And we stare at each other and say 'maybe Brandi knows?' ... but now I have a reference to use.
