    • last time, my topic was discrimination and abuse toward homeless people, and today I will talk about how to prevent it. To summarize some info on my topic, discrimination toward the homeless is when someone buys and harasses someone for being poor or for living on the streets. anyways, this can be avoided by people stopping it when they see it. suppose you see a person yelling and harassing a homeless person for some unnecessary reason, you should go up to them and tell them to stop. many entitled people think all homeless people are irresponsible idiots but some come from bad and tragic backgrounds, we can end this by standing up for the homeless when we see this because it is a big problem that should end.

This is similar to the advantages Caucasians have because of their race or men have because they are men. Some examples of heterosexual privilege include the ability to express simple affection in public without fear of retaliation, violence, or harassment, children's books that only depict heterosexual parents, and the ability to only find heterosexual wedding cards. Heterosexism can be subtle as well as overt. 

    Heterosexism causes unnecessary stress (in ways we are unaware of) and can influence our personal choices. Being aware of this can assist you in coping in healthier and less harmful ways to your physical, emotional, sexual, psychological, and spiritual well-being. Schools and hospitals, for example, can serve as a platform and a springboard for heterosexist attitudes and ideas. Schools, for example, perceive non-heterosexuals lives as a "sensitive issue," and sexual and gender diversity is only mentioned in health or guidance classes. 

    Another example is punishing same-sex/gender couples who violate school ground rules harshly while allowing heterosexual couples to get away with a less severe and more subtle disciplinary penalty for an equal or similar infraction. In addition, hospitals may restrict patient visits to "immediate family," i.e. relatives, and ban same-sex/gender partners from receiving the benefits that come with heterosexual partnerships.
