P- I see the quote "freedom" is rising in the South, I see a large man (I assume is black) being tied down by the KKK, I also see that he is trying to get up

I - I think this means that the black man is being held down by the ideas still held by the South and racism driven groups but is trying to break free to achieve freedom

C- I conclude that the man represents African-Americans trying to escape from the racism in the south by doing things that aren't seen as aloud to the whites and the white south isn't trying to let them do so.
