Since Norena is being introduced to a new environment, I would advise her parents to maintain contact with their child. It would be preferable if they were to take care of their daughter, especially her emotions and conduct. This then won't result in a maladaptive behavior. In order to handle Norena's situation professionally and successfully, we also need to be knowledgeable about a range of strategies. Of course, we must assign her a behavior task and watch over its completion following the session. As a counselor, I can suggest that this case or situation will undergo CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy) since Norena's behavior has changed and it affects her performance and same to its cognitive.

First follow the counseling process. Get the trust of Norena by exposing her to a comfortable place where she can openly express her emotions and personal troubles. Actively listen to her while she is talking. The change in the behavior is most likely related to the impending relocation due to her father’s new job. An applicable counseling approach would be creative therapy. The counselor can use this approach since Norena is already into music and arts way before the news was brought up. She can use this as an outlet for her pent up emotions and thoughts. The counselor can also introduce Norena to different existing organizations related to arts and music in Ohio that Norena may want to venture into. After this, the counselor must give Norena some time to adjust. The counselor then can do follow ups to check up on Norena.

Rosales, Liane Arzen I. | BSP 2.3 (REALITY THERAPY

So, given the sample case, I chose reality therapy as a response to Norena's situation. Below is the following explanation on why did I chose this and the procedure on how will I apply this specific counseling technique.

First, I would like to have a schedule with Norena so that we can talk and discuss about her current situation. Taking note that this session will be one on one and preferably in-person.

Moving on, on the day of our meeting, I would try to create and set the atmosphere by building a rapport with her starting with greetings such as "Hello, young lady. You're Norena, right?" and so on. This is to have a positive engagement with her and to make her feel comfortable before we address the situation on hand.

Afterwards, if I felt like the tension inside the room was lessen, I would slowly but straightforwardly address her the situation but first, I would say to her that our session will be confidential and I will only let her mother know that we have talked today. This is to show that I respect Norena's privacy and also to ensure her that everything that we are going to talk about will be staying in the four corners of the room but her parents would know that the talk took place.

And so the real process of resolving the situation will start:

1. Ask "How can I help you"
- Since, I am using the reality therapy, I will use a probe that will safely create something that might trigger Norena to ask or formulate the request for help by describing what she think the problem is with her own words.
- Taking note, using general and broad but straightforward questions as a starter will make the client speak and share details more freely.
- Afterwards, to know more specific details, I will use open-ended questions and then will use reflective statements as an act of showing empathy from time-to-time to connect with her more and for her to be felt understood. This is to encourage her to continually open-up without feeling pressured or tense.

2. Use rephrasing, respectful interpretation, and verbal and non-verbal listening techniques as the discussion goes on.
- As the discussion goes on, stated above is some of the techniques I thought to use to be more engaged and gather more data about the situation and Norena's feelings at the same time.
- Rephrasing and trying to interpret Norena's statements respectfully will also help both of us, the counselor and the client, to clearly understand the problem.

3. After figuring out the main problem, I will try to apply the reality technique by making her realize that changes is normal and inevitable and it is not that bad as what she thought it was by accentuating possible scenarios that may help her effectively think of positive visions instead of fear of changes.

4. When Norena, finally came up to realization that moving to other place with her whole family is not that scary and bad, the next thing I will do is to help her resolve her problem with her academic studies and her relationship with her parents and peers.
- Again by using the same technique that I used from the start, I will slowly ask the possible reason why she treated her parents and peers that way and will make her realize that it is wrong. Once she realized it, I will suggest few ideas such as apologizing to her parents and peers. I could also suggest positive ideas and solutions so that she won't feel sad and negative about moving to other places. For example, I can say that she have remaining months to create memories with her friends that she will surely tressure before they move in Ohio or she can still connect with her peers through video call.

5. Lastly, when everything is settled and Norena started to realize and see moving in Ohio in different light, I will tell her that I will keep on checking on her through calls or she can visit me at a specific schedule to show my continues support to her even after the session.
- This action will also serve as a leverage for me as a counselor to make sure that Norena is improving with regards in her relation with her parents and peers and her studies.

---
Take note, the whole procedure does not mean it had to be done in just one session, it depends on how fast the progress can be given the situation.

Here's the short explanation why I chose the reality therapy for Norena's case. Foremost, reality therapy focuses on client's self-actualization and building positive relationship with her counselor. With this, it will be more natural for her to have a positive thinking and seeing the problem in a positive light by helping her understand clearly the situation. It is like turning the negative situation into positive vision that will help her move forward in life. Furthermore, as the result, the client will began to sort out and able to reflect on the real problems that keep on bothering her and proceed to evaluating her behavior to positively change it through self-actualization.

Given the situation of Norena, I could only assume the potential stressor of the young lady.

I will schedule a 1:1 discussion with her to know more about her thoughts and feelings about the recent changes in her life. With all those changes, it could really be difficult for her age to adapt easily. On this sessions, I will aim to allow her to open up and establish trust so it will be more productive for both of us.

After this, for intention of helping Norena, I will speak to her parents. This is to discuss how these changes affect their daughter and her performance at school. This could also affect other areas of her life. These are the things I'll do to help Norena and her Family get through these changes.

Norena is at the point in her life where she is easily influenced by her emotions. Norena is having difficulties adjusting to fact that she would be leaving her old life behind and move to Ohio with her family and because of that she is having maladaptive behaviors like acting out, being rude to the people around her, etc. I would suggest that we should talk to not only Norena but to her parents as well since their choice has a great influence on what Norena is experiencing. I would suggest for them to have alternatives or compensate in a way so that Norena would not feel isolated when she moves. For example, going back to their old place during vacation. My suggestion as well is to talk with Norena and make her understand that there are things in life that we are not capable of changing, what we can change is our outlook and behavior towards it. Norena can use the fire she is feeling into a more productive activity that can help her adjust with her new situation. Activities like writing, learning new hobbies, and etc. A mixture of reality and creative therapy is what technique I would use to help Norena.

I really think that it is not easy for Norena to adjust into the environment especially to her new school, there are new peers and teachers, new ambiance, and of course, I have to understand it first, what she felt is valid. I know it's really hard for her to adapt and to have an interaction with her surroundings and the people that she sees. It is recommended for her to have sessions with counselors, and I think the best therapy to use is cognitive therapy, 'cause if I'm not wrong, the changes of situation is the reason why she's feeling negative emotions to the changes, and I don't really think that she really accept the new changes, it's like she's not willing because she's not used to the new environment, and I would like to suggest that she needs social support from her parents too.

I eperienced this myself so i will try to tell first norena my story on how I did just fine on that transition time. second thing i will do is that i will ask her about things she miss on her old school; friend, teachers or more. I will tell her that feeling shocked or misplaced is normal in these days and it is alright for her to take her time to adjust. regarding on her behavior on bad wording, i want to know her side on why is she triggered to use these kind of wordings. and lastly i will try to convince her to take this stage of trnsitioning calmly so she can first observe and eventually learn to go with the new environment.

She has been behaving in that way because their family is relocating to an area where she knows no one. I can picture how challenging it will be for her to interact with those around her. The second is that, given that Norena's interest in music and the arts was mentioned in the case, she can also engage in creative therapy. She can paint or draw on a canvas. Whenever I show off this kind of behavior, I know that people surrounds me were affected and it wasn't really healthy. Best advice that I can give to Norena in terms of dealing her problems is to have a Behavior Therapy because this kind of therapy deals with unhealthy behavior that Norena have at the moment and she just need to be more open & be true of how she feels, let other people know that she's not in her hood state to have conversations. Because sometimes, I guess we just need time with ourselves to breath, to think & to be calm.

Given Norena's situation, a few therapy or approaches can be used here. One of the approaches that can be utilized here is Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. Using this approach, I as her counselor will discuss with Norena her pre-existing beliefs or patterns within that which altered how she behaves. These beliefs are those regarding her new environment, like her new town, Ohio, and especially her new school. Through this approach, I will be able to help her prepare herself properly as she moves forward and accepts her unique situation for her to be functional and active like before. I will also give her assurance and remind her that change is inevitable in life, and the only way we can approach this is to adapt gradually; I will guide her until she can stand and adjust on her own again. And also, sometimes "new" things can help us better our lives.

Norena is perceiving her moving to another town as abandoning all she built up such as the relationships she made. She might think that if she's just going to leave everything then what's the purpose of her still having a good touch with them. If this case is true then CBT would be a good approach
I would tell Norena that "I understand that you don't want to leave the precious things and relationships you have built here for a long time but don't you think what you are doing right now is destroying the things you have built?" and "Norena, moving doesn't necessarily mean you are leaving as long as you leave a part of yourselves with them. You may move out but the memories will stay with them."

since the situation affects her behavior, For a counselor to be able to help her I think reality therapy would be great approach to be use. Since she moved from their old place where she can be most confident and comfortable, applying reality therapy would make her realize that the new place and new environment is actually a good start. She is able to showcase her leadership, her talents, the things she's doing before. And as a counselor, I would make her feel that the things what she is able to do is within her, it's in her. with those, no matter where and in what situation she is in, she can shine. That she must accept and face new environment for her to enhance, grow, and develop to what she is capable to do more. And changes is part of our lives. it's just a matter of how she will do and let herself out slowly basing on her own pace.

Norena's confusion can lead to anxieties, and it is normal. I will try to connect with her in a very shallow way, yet have the intention to get it deep since I want to help her without her even noticing it. I will listen to her rants, understand her, and give her reassuring words because most people in their angst moments just need to vent it out and hear reassuring words to make them feel that their reason why they are like that is valid. Adjusting to a new environment is no joke for me; I will try to assess how she feels about certain things one by one and listen and understand. Approaching her in a friendly but low-key manner can help her from the inside out, because sometimes all a person needs is someone to listen and understand them in order to feel better and return to their natural self.

As for Norena’s case, I’d choose Mindfulness-based therapy to help her in her situation. In order to understand her, it is critical to gain an accurate picture of her present thoughts and feelings. It's a receptive and accommodating approach to dealing with one's own thoughts. Norena's struggles with adjusting to life as a student may be compounded by a number of circumstances that she may find difficult to address. The goal of mindfulness-based therapy is to encourage a person to focus on the present situation without judgment. Mental illnesses can be prevented in their tracks with the help of mindfulness-based therapy, which instruct their clients to focus on the present moment and disengage from destructive thought patterns. Mindfulness-based therapy would allow the therapist to get insight into Norena's emotional state and mental patterns around the current situation. Norena can benefit from mindfulness therapy by breaking the cycle of negative emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations that serve to reinforce and perpetuate her negative state of mind. As a result of this, she'll discover that even the most unpleasant thoughts and feelings may be kept in awareness and reframed in a way that offers comfort and understanding to her pain.

The practice of mindfulness opens up a world of new opportunities for you to grow as a person, acquire valuable knowledge, and find connections with your own mind.

When she speaks about it I must give my full attention to show her she had company because the reason why she's like that might because she is afraid of rejection and judgement, and also i will suggest that it will be better for her to cope if she joins different activities like clubs or camps to make new friends. It should be motivational therapy since her history was she was having good grades not until she changes the environment. So i will cheer her up and ask about things that makes her inspired and tell her some motivational speeches.

It's valid for Norena herself to feel that way. First and foremost, we can help Norena through various kinds of therapies. Apply the counseling process so that she will not be so shocked by the things she may need to share with you. Therefore, one of the counseling approaches that can help our counselee is reality therapy. The said therapy can be a big help to her as she can visualize and scrutinize how will she handle such a big transition and changes in her life. This therapy can also make her realize that she is the one who writes her own story and that she is responsible for everything that she does and conquer. Moreover, we can also try creative therapy to perhaps give her a way to see her full potential amidst her most trying times. Furthermore, the presence of loved ones is also vital for the kind of situation Norena is facing at the time. We should also speak to them regarding the best way to help their child or their loved one. By these means, we hope to understand, and help in a such kind manner and see Norena as a worthy individual deserving of peace and assurance.

Later, if I feel that she is comfortable with me, I'll question her about any problems or concerns she may have. Since I am aware of Norena's issue, which is her fear of moving to a new location, I believe the therapy I should be providing her is cognitive-behavioral therapy. This therapy helps the patient change a negative thought to a positive one, and since Norena's thoughts about moving to Ohio are what cause her behavior to change, this is a solution that is ideal for her issue. Finally, I'll speak with her parents to advise them on how to deal with Norena's behavior and enlist their assistance in finding a solution to Norena's behavior issue. By toning her down and getting her attention first, I'm gonna give her time to slowly calm down and say what she wants to say in a right and better state without getting angry. Second, I can slowly ask her about what she thinks, feels and, her opinion about her used surroundings and know her thoughts, expectations, and feelings in her soon-to-be new environment. By knowing this, I can give her different approaches/suggestions that would help her to transition her thoughts and assumptions about her soon-to-be new environment into a more positive perspective. For example, I can suggest that she can do one step at a time activity in her new environment like simply starting the small talk with her seatmate or joining in a group activity that would expose her to the new premises or environment until she became familiar.

Alam nyang pagkatapos ng taon ay aalis din sya that’s why she distance herself to her peers.

The situation of Norena is relatable to mine, because I also experience the same thing when I was in grade 12. In that phase of our life we really struggle in different aspects of life. Attachment issues, which I think Norena's one of her problem, she became attached to the environment, but due to the family matter, she really need to follow her parents.
One of the ways I think to help Norena is to just make herself comfortable to her new environment. She can try to go outside and familiarize her new environment, I think in that case she's going to be comfortable since she has her relatives with her. Second, she can make herself a new hobby, example is sketching, workout (jogging through their village), read, learn how to play instruments. In that case she can easily clear up her mind to the situation she have. Also, parents have a big responsibility to her, as Norena's counselor, I can talk to her parents to help Norena figure out things since she had a good record to her academics. However, it's not that easy, but since Norena has a counselor, things will be flow better as long as she has a support system with her.

After analyzing the case of Norena about having difficulties accepting the changes that will occur to her environment, I think the counseling process is the first thing that I would apply to it. Why? Because I need to identify what is the reason behind the change in performance and behavior in the school. First is knowing her personality, having a casual but meaningful conversation might give me insights into how she handles stress, adaptability, and self-control when it comes to her situation. Second is observing her daily routine through the statement of her teacher and also the mother, in that way I will modify the pattern to utilize her behavior and how come up with a specific strategy. Third is pointing out what is really the problem might help her to realize that she is actually not alone in this kind of difficulty, I may have explained to her that it is okay to feel sad and afraid because it's part of life, that we may be facing huge adjustment but the things are we need to make a change in order to grow and learn new things. It may sound simple but it's not that's why we have a support system that gives us hope that they are always on your side to help and guide you along the way. And for the conclusion, helping Norena by having reality therapy is fit with her case because it's all about the occurrence of the change in life and what are the common responds to it because that's how life works. we just have time to accept it in order to be ready for what's coming.

I'll probably employ rational-emotive behavior therapy in this case. Student Norena now holds the irrational belief that moving to a new location due to her dad's employment circumstances will make it difficult for her to adjust and establish new friends. She thus experiences emotional and mental distress as a result of these irrational thoughts. Aside from that, this affects her motivation to carry out her typical activities, her participation in school activities, and her academic achievement. This could help her see that moving to new places can be a means to meet new people and can be beneficial for their family with the use of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. And by the end of this session, may Norena's irrational thoughts alleviate or completely disappear, be participative in school activities like before, and starts cherishing her time with her friends before the day she'll moves out.

Based on what the current situation of Norena. First of all, I would like to talk to her about her struggles, I'll let her tell me everything, talk to her like I can be her friend so that she can be comfortable with me. After that I'll probably will mention or introduce her to the techniques how to possibly express her emotions. Apparently if I'll based my insights about what's happening to her. In my perspective, she's bottling up emotions and problems that's why it can be lead to outburst of anger. Because she felt like no one understand her, so I came up to the solution of teaching her to open up what she feel about happenings around her so that she can control her response about it. Also, maybe that's why she can't cope up with others in studies and that why she's failing because of losing of competitiveness to join everyone. A feeling of being left alone and burden that even studying will not benefit her. It's all about the lack of knowing how to show her feelings toward others especially when it comes to hardship she's currently facing. Knowing the shift of her comfort and sudden feelings to the surroundings will have big impact, but without proper communication on how to express deep emotions with her peers and family it may affect how she response to people around her. As much as possible I'll also include and talk to Norena's family so that they will have some perspective and idea on how to properly approach and talk to Norena's feelings and problems. So that her family members will be also engage about acknowledging her hardships about the sudden shifts around her surroundings and current struggles in school and communication. And the latter part will be that if her situation doesn't improve, this time I will legally advise to proceed to a procedure or process on how to undergo into counseling or professional approach so that I can analyze, observe and conduct proper reading about her behavior so that I might give her the suitable help she needed to improve as a person in every session and progress we will have.

Different relationships are disrupted by moves. A new student at school might first believe that everyone else is safe in their relationships with their peers or has a best buddy. The child may be ahead in certain topics while falling behind in others as they adjust to a new schedule and program. The child might feel uncomfortable, confused, or anxious in such a setting. As such, I will first do the Mindfulness-Based Counseling, I want Norena to realize that it's normal to experience stress and emotional pressure because of changes in your environment. It is important to validate Norena's feelings by acknowledging the fears she has, and this will also help in building rapport with her. Then, I will also conduct a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, it will help in attacking the thoughts Norena may have, it will also help in coping with the behaviors she is expressing. Furthermore, to comprehend what underlies her disruptive behavior at school, it is vital to learn more about the circumstance and the sentiments connected to it. As a counselor, it's essential to assist Norena in understanding the advantages of relocating to a new town. Therefore, it's crucial to determine whether the student has any optimistic perceptions about the moving scenario. I think it's a must to assist Norena in shifting her viewpoint and recognizing the benefits. As a counselor, I wish to provide solutions after learning the factors that caused the changes in her behavior. One thing I would recommend is to require a physical and emotional support, this support from a responsible adult who is sensitive to her needs and worries, through that, it will make her feel safe and may help with her anxieties. Also, I would want to communicate with the parents and talk to them on how they can support Norena in every way they can to help her improve.

I will use Reality Therapy, the first thing that I will do is ask her about her insights on the idea of moving, and how does she feel about it without invalidating her feelings. I'll just gonna earn her trust that there is someone that is willing to listen about her side. Once I have the wide understanding on her feelings, I will give her some ways or suggestions that might gonna help, and will also add the benefits of starting fresh in a new country is a powerful way to evolve into her true authentic self. By comforting Norena and encouraging her to engage more in socializing, they can help her in transitioning to her new life and home. But if it still doesn't work, this is the time that she can ask her parents if she can seek counseling. It can be quite challenging to adjust to a new environment; Norena may feel homesick and experience culture shock. Since the goal of counseling is to assist a person in overcoming their issues and lead a happy life, seeking out a counselor and scheduling counseling sessions is actually a great option for her. In Norena's situation, I would use humanistic counseling to help her express and feel her emotions first, afterwards, I will emphasize to her the importance of being true to yourself. I'll guide her free herself from worries and negative attitudes so she can live a happier life.

The fact that they’ve moved to a different city, she will definitely feel anxious. Because, everything is new and no one there is familiar to her. We also know for a fact that she’s not good at interacting with people, but that doesn’t change the fact that she really needs to cope with the situation. If I were to give her advice or to counsel her, I would start by giving her the control to navigate her surroundings and let her understand what this place would be. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or also known as CBT, I will set a goal for her to do in a week, then, we will check if she did it or not. Even if she did it a little bit, it’s still a progress. Given her situation, every bit of task that she can do was a good sign that she is starting to understand what this is really about. Doing it step by step will likely make it easier for her to grasp the situation that is happening to her.

A child will need to learn how to adapt to change and tolerate even negative emotions as they grow into resilient adults. In Norena's case we must spend time discussing the effects of their movement and emotional awareness display during these discussions. We can also assure her that her emotions are valid and during such a significant shift, it is more important to assist them in coping with changes. Allow them, for example, to create some simple
decisions made at home. Evaluate the possible mood and behavioral changes. When dealing with negative feelings in children, acceptance is the best approach. Most of the time, when children's feelings are accepted and supported, they cope better with difficult situations.

Knowing Norena's situation, I will first and foremost create a safe space for her to freely vent and let out her feelings, thoughts, and problems. I'll listen to her outbursts, identify with her feelings, and reassure her that her feelings are valid. I can relate to Norena in some ways because I actually relocated to a place I'm unfamiliar with, both geographically and in terms of the people. Because you never know how people will treat you or how they might judge you, this adds to our anxiety. I believe the best course of treatment for Norena would be reality therapy. By employing this approach, Norena will be able to accept her circumstances and the new environment she is living in gradually. She may regain her former self through this therapy, and it may even improve her capacity to better manage her life so that everything turns out okay. Not only that, but it can also assist her in carrying out worthwhile and fruitful activities, such as developing relationships with those in her immediate vicinity.

The first thing I can do in order to understand Norena's situation is the step on her feet show some sympathy and feeling validation to her feelings because she's currently dealing with confusion and anxiousness because of sudden changes in her life. It's important as soon as possible to do some reinforcement in order to avoid being diagnosed with more serious disorder because as of now she's still in case of maladaptive behaviour. Her parents plays a big role in her situation cause they're responsible to this kind of happening to their child. I would highly suggest CBT known as the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy I think this kind of psychotherapy suits Norena's situation because it focuses on changing the underlying actions or thoughts that is a sign or contributes to maladaptive behaviour. Also having a family counseling is recommended since she's with her family when experiencing this issue. I think it helps when she's still in touch to her friends she left from her country like one step at a time and giving her activities that will help her to cope up with the new environment she have also with the help of her family.

Undoubtedly, moving and trying to adjust to a new place have had a variety of effects on her lifestyle. As her counselor, I will provide a safe space where she can express her thoughts, concerns, and worries regarding her situation. I will give her the proper advice after taking the time to first listen to her and observe. I'll ask her to get to know not just the people around her but also the new place. And to her parent, I'll ask them to keep in touch with her as much as possible. It is better to check about her and her new surroundings regularly; perhaps she has something to share. Given that she has lost touch with her peers, it is one of the best approaches to help and guide her. We all know that change is a part of being human, as cliché as that may sound. The sooner she can embrace that reality, the sooner she can begin addressing the subsequent emotions more effectively.

It's a big adjustment for her because she was already emotionally invested to what was going on in her life in her current location, and then there's this transfer thing that bends her emotion, leading to a change in behavior due to disappointment. If I were a counselor, I would definitely use cognitive behavioral therapy to help her take a chill pill about the things she's worried about and accept things as they are.

In my perspective, after analyzing the situation of Norena’s adjusting to a new environment. As her Counselor my first approach would be I will ask her about her thoughts moving to a new place and gather all the information coming from her specially to check her emotions so that she can feel that her emotions are valid. Knowing her side will help me to approach her on how she can cope up with the changes in her environment and guide her so that she can adapt to the new place and learn how to blend with the people around her. Using the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that leads to significant improvement in functioning and quality of life. As her Counselor, I will give her time to adjust and I will focus on the part that she's having difficulties with on how to move forward. Applying the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy treatment usually involves efforts to change thinking patterns; using this will help me as her Counselor to recognize what are distortions in thinking that are creating problems for her, and then to re-evaluate them in light of reality. In that way I can address her behavior problems along with helping Norena to cope up until she feels better and feels comfortable with her surroundings.

I'll tell her that although her behavior is normal, it may eventually have a negative impact on her communication and academic performance.
According to the situation, the best therapy I can offer her is one that will reduce her anxiety. Her altered behavior may be the result of her anxiety as she adjusts to her new environment, and by displaying these behaviors, she is warning her parents that her new environment is not suitable for her.

Norena is having changes in her behavior, performance, and mood which is normal for a student who's experiencing stress and emotional pressure upon learning about their family's move to a new place. First thing that I will do is to approach her and make her feel that I am someone she can trust. I will let her know that I'm a person who will listen without judgement and would not do anything with bad intention. I will ask her regarding her fears about uncertainty for me to be able to know more about her thoughts and feelings. Following that, I will let her know that what she feels is valid and understandable. Since Norena's changes in behavior are associated with their transitioning to a new town and school, I will ask her about the things that she loves with her current school and town to start the conversation in a light way. After learning those things, I will try to determine her fears about the fact that they are moving to a new place. Is it the new environment? The new people in town? The new possible classmates? Or the fear of not being able to do what she loves in their new place? All of these things are the possible reasons. Norena's feelings are always valid. I would then encourage her to try to talk to a trusted person about what she feels if that's what makes her comfortable. Following that, maybe I'll say a number of good things about Ohio, the town where they are expected to move in, and tell her that it also offers a lot of amazing things just like their current place. Next to my conversation with Norena, I will also try to be in touch with her parents and explain to them the session that I had with their daughter so that they would further understand her more and her behavior and will know how to properly deal with the situation. It is also important for the parents to have a proper communication with their daughter who's in distress especially that they are the people who's always with her at home. A final conversation with Norena is a must. During this, I would recommend for her to try to continue her interest in music and art at home as she is currently having problems doing them at school. Because doing them at home even in a slow pace may help her heal and express her feelings through ways that are interesting for her.

As it is observed, the sudden changes in Norena's behavior were caused by the new environment around her that she was not used to. Sometimes, our behavior are modified by something that is new to us in which it triggers that behavior to turn upside down. Assumingly, let's say that Norena is not the type of person who is equipped for change, and that is why the outcome of her behavior has manifested negatively and affected other people. And given the fact that Norena was doing excellent before the vacation and that after the vacation is when all these changes in Norena's behavior happened, it only proves that Norena was culture shocked, struggled to adapt, and was not able to cope with the changes around her, which seems to be what triggered her behavior. Moreover, the stress factor of moving to Ohio for Norena might also be one of the reasons why her behavior had become worse and seemed to be out of her control.

To help Norena, I would let her go through the right process of counseling and use narrative therapy. I believe everyone has a story to tell, and I will let Norena tell her story with all ears. This is a way for Norena to ponder about how she perceives the changes around her and her own opinions and feelings about everything that has shocked her in relation to her situation. Moreover, this is also a way for Norena to let out all her uncertain feelings and emotions about moving to a different place and having a different life. And also, she'd be able to process the changes and other things she doesn't like, and that's where we can work on. And when she has already told her story, that's when I can help her think of other ways she can better respond to these changes and to the people that surround her.

Norena's condition and situation should not be neglected since they may have an impact on her physical, mental, and cognitive health, leading to less restful sleep, stress, a diminished capacity to manage eating, anxiety, depression, uncontrolled emotions and behaviors, and more difficulties paying attention and doing complicated activities. Some of the effects stated above are gradually showing themselves after Norena’s vacation, and if the problem she is experiencing cannot be managed and resolved, it might lead to even more adverse consequences and changes in her everyday life.

Therefore, as a counselor, I believe that cognitive-behavioral therapy and systematic family therapy would be the most effective therapies for her situation and condition. In my first therapy of Norena, I shall focus on cognitive-behavioral therapy. Cognitive-behavioral therapy will help Norena become aware of any wrong or negative thoughts she has. This will help her see difficult situations more clearly and respond to them in a better way. It will also help Norena develop healthier ways of thinking and learn how to acknowledge and change destructive or upsetting ways of thinking that have a bad effect on her behavior and emotions. Through this therapy, Norena's irrational thoughts are pinpointed, questioned, and replaced with more rational, fact-based thoughts. As soon as this takes place, Norena will have increased levels of motivation, which will lead to her returning to being involved in extracurricular activities and socializing, as well as increased levels of success in her academic endeavors. And when this CBT therapy proved successful, I will go on to the next and last therapy, which is systematic family therapy.

Through the use of systematic family therapy, Norena and her family members will be able to safely express and explore challenging thoughts and emotions, understand and appreciate each other's experiences and points of view, and appreciate each other's needs. They will also be able to build on the family's strengths and make positive changes in their relationships and their lives. In this manner, it may encourage Norena to share more of her thoughts and emotions with her family regarding moving to Ohio, and as a consequence of this therapy, Norena's parents will be aware of her genuine sentiments about their decision.

For me to help Norena, I have to understand first on why she is acting the way she is. I was briefed and was mentioned that the probable cause of the change in her behavior is due to her family moving to a new environment, but I think it is better to hear the reason from Norena herself and for me to do that I have to make her talk on why she is behaving the way she is now. Since she is isolating herself from others, it would be hard for her to open up. What I would do is to tell her a personal story of mine which is somehow similar to her situation and if she is ready to talk, I will listen intently to her problems and whims. Since the probable root cause of her behavior is the decision of her parents to relocate, I would suggest Norena and her family to have a Systemic Family Therapy. By using this approach, I will have the chance to talk to the parents and help them understand what their child is going through and the effect of their decision to Norena's behavior. I will advise them to talk and listen to their daughter's feelings about them moving. I would advise Norena and her parents to have a constant communication since it will help them to understand each others action and behavior.

The given scenario shows different perspectives and behavior but the main focus is to address Norena's emotion and behavior. This shows how people easily attached with people whom we feel comfortable and happy to be with. This also shows how one's emotion and behavior affect other's behavior without that person notice and become unaware. On the other hand, knowing these situation might result as realization to others. Identifying the situation made me wanted to help Norena with the use of 'Rational-Emotive Approach' and 'Reality Therapy.' Rational-Emotive approach uses to identify how an event or situation may create an outcome. This can be helpful for Norena as it will help her avoid negative thought patterns as it is already evident how her school performance and people arround her was affected. On the other hand, reality therapy can also be applied as it will help Norena voice out her feelings and possibly build a good communication and/or relationship. It can also help Norena to accept, face the reality, as well as to focus on present.

Being in a new environment is difficult and hard indeed. Even I, don't want to be on the same boat again. However, self-confidence and acceptance will lead us to a much healthy emotional and beharioral status. We have to know and accept the fact that everyone will leave and knowing that, we must create and build better relationships in a way we will always be remembered. I've already experienced to leave and to be left behind—and I felt to much pain that I went in a point of asking what's worth of it and if I deserve all these. There's a lot questions and emotions. I also isolate myself and 'till have now I only have small circle of friends scared to the fact that they might or I might leave them. To be honest, I just had most traumatic experience this year. Someone closest to my heart leave me again. Someone whom I told the reason why I'm alive and fighting, left me. Still remembering the time, date, and how much I cried that day. She's the only person whom I wanted to be here if I'll be asked.

Being in this siatuation is really hard. The only way I get through everything is because I change the way I think, I change my behavior, and change the way I communicate. If I'll be given a chance to speak with Norena in real life, I'll then listen because I know how it feels that no one dared to listen. I'll let her voice everything out; all her problems, decisions, and emotions. I'll let her feel that everything she's feeling are valid and lead her to the right way of dealing with it. I'll let her handle and face the situation little by little. With that, it might result a positive and good behavior. Norena's situation is not something that you can just simply approach, it requires patience and willingness to help.

In Norena's scenario, I believe Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, can be used as a counseling technique. The student has issues with behavior and school refusal. It is stated that The girl experiences difficulties with coping with her feelings and possible fears about uncertainty, and I believe the biggest factor that contributes as to why Norena is behaving this way is because she is feeling anxious because of the new life she is awaking to. This technique can help identify and understand your negative thinking and ineffective behavior patterns and replace them with more realistic thoughts, effective actions, and coping mechanisms (Cuncic, 2020). Living somewhere new is challenging since it takes time to become used to the surroundings, meet new people, and establish new routines.

I'll ask her about her current predicament and then let her tell me her story so I can understand why she acts the way she does. In this manner, I will be able to relate to her and guide her in realizing the problem with her conduct and coming up with a solution. Another important step is to make her feel at ease so that she can tell me her narrative. Environment change is quite difficult, especially for those who have a hard time adjusting to a new setting. The most significant thing I can advise her is to let her know that everything will be okay and that she can get through it.

There is a big possibility that moving into a new environment is the reason why Norena's attitude and behavior changed. But to be sure, I will just talk to her about that.

The steps that I will do to helo Norena are:
1. Let Norena talk about her current situation ask here how is she feeling today?
2. What are her insights moving into a new place.
3. Ask her what is she feeling about moving out.
4. Dissect the 3rd question by providing effective probing questions.
5. Let my statements be open ended questions, and do verbal nods while being silent so that Norena can express her thought.
6. I will identify key points on her behavior change.
7. Give her proper advice and exrrcises to help her acclimate on the new environment.

Major life changes can cause a lot of stress and anxiety. Moving schools can also cause low self-esteem. Norena may feel of being excluded, which often comes with moving schools. This could be challenging for Norena because of new environment. CBT can be an effective tool to help her learn how to better manage stressful life situations. This is done in order to figure out how to deal with emotions, resolve relationship conflicts and learn better ways to communicate and cope with changes. In our first session, I will gather information about Norena's concerns that she likes to work on. To better grasp her position, I will enquire about her physical and emotional health in the past and present. I'll encourage Norena to express her feelings and discuss what's bothering her. I might assign her homework, such as exercises, books to read, or other things that will help her apply what she is learning outside of her regular therapy sessions, as she works through the therapy session.

When Norena's family decides to move far away, she must adjust to not only the academic expectations of a new school, but also to its culture. This shift can result in feelings of alienation, social isolation, and, in severe cases, depression. Youth who change schools are more likely to exhibit a variety of negative behavioral and educational outcomes. As Norena’s counselor, my first approach for her to trust me is to make her feel comfortable and familiar with me by telling my story first, which she can relate to and after I finally make her trust me we will start our session. As in Norena's case she is not academically prepared for the new curriculum after transfer, and she must make up for lost time. Without any preparation, she will immediately blend in with the other students. As for Norena CBT or cognitive behavior therapy also known as talk therapy is the best technique for her. CBT is a practical approach to problem solving that assists you in changing your thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors. This type of therapy is usually short-term and goal-oriented, and it is used to treat a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and relationship issues.
