I am a Mexican actress with a passion for the arts that has been nurtured throughout my life. Growing up Mexican, I was exposed to the vibrant culture and rich history of the country from a young age. My parents were both involved in the arts, and they instilled in me a love for music, dance, and theater that has stayed with me to this day. As a child, I was always drawn to the stage. I would put on impromptu performances for my family and friends, and I was constantly seeking out new opportunities to develop my skills. When I was in middle school, I joined my school's theater group and began taking acting lessons. This was a turning point for me, as it allowed me to hone my craft and discover my passion for acting. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with some truly amazing artists and directors. I have learned from their experiences and their unique perspectives, and I have been inspired by their dedication and passion for the craft. As an artist citizen, I am committed to using my platform to make a positive impact in the world. I believe that art has the power to transcend boundaries and bring people together, and I am dedicated to using my talents to promote social justice and equality. In future years, I hope to be involved in various initiatives aimed at supporting marginalized communities and promoting environmental sustainability. My goal as an artist is to create work that is meaningful and impactful. I want to use my voice and my talents to tell stories that inspire, challenge, and provoke thought. Whether on stage or on screen, I strive to bring authenticity and honesty to my performances. I believe that as an actress, it's my job to connect with the audience and to convey genuine emotions and experiences. To achieve this level of authenticity, I often draw from my own personal experiences and emotions. I spend time researching and studying my characters, learning about their backgrounds and motivations, and finding ways to connect with their experiences. I am also committed to working with directors and fellow actors who share my dedication to authenticity. I value collaboration and open communication on set, and I’m always willing to push myself outside of my comfort zone to create a more genuine and impactful performance. Ultimately, I believe that acting is about telling stories that resonate with audiences, and that the most powerful stories are the ones that are rooted in truth and authenticity. I feel privileged to one day have the opportunity to bring stories to life and to share them with audiences around the world.

Value 1- Representation

As an actress, I believe that Latinx representation is one of the most important values to uphold in the entertainment industry. It is crucial to showcase the diverse experiences and perspectives of Latinx individuals and to challenge harmful stereotypes and tropes. In my artistic process, I strive to bring authenticity and nuance to the roles I play. I am committed to portraying Latinx characters in a way that is respectful and honors their unique stories and identities. I believe that by doing so, I can help break down barriers and create a more inclusive and equitable industry for all. For example, in a recent project, I played a young Latinx woman who was struggling to balance her reality with her dream of life. Rather than falling back on tired stereotypes, I worked closely with the writer and director to create a character that felt authentic and multi-dimensional. Together, we explored the complexities of the Latinx experience and the unique challenges faced by those who straddle two cultures. By doing so, we were able to create a character that felt real and relatable, rather than a caricature. Beyond my work as an actress, I am also passionate about advocating for Latinx representation in all areas of the industry. This includes behind-the-scenes roles such as writers, directors, and producers. By supporting and elevating Latinx voices, we can create a more diverse and vibrant entertainment landscape. In short, Latinx representation is a core value that guides my artistic process and advocacy efforts. I believe that by working together to uplift and celebrate diverse voices, we can create a more just and inclusive world. (The picture I chose to share is from the production of El Corrido De La Soldadera where I played the young Mexican lead of Elena, a strong independent girl that works hard to break stereotypes as she struggles to provide for her family.)

Value 2- Beauty Standards

As a Mexican actress, I believe that Hollywood's beauty standards play a crucial role in shaping the industry and its cultural impact. Hollywood has long been associated with promoting a narrow and unrealistic ideal of beauty that often excludes individuals who do not fit a certain mold. This issue is particularly relevant to me as a Mexican actress because Hollywood has historically perpetuated harmful stereotypes and narrow depictions of Latinx individuals. These portrayals often prioritize lighter skin tones, Eurocentric features, and conforming to Western beauty standards. As an artist, it is important to me to challenge these beauty standards and promote greater inclusivity in the industry. I believe that by representing a diverse range of beauty, we can create more authentic and meaningful storytelling that reflects the true diversity of our world. In my artistic process, I am committed to working with directors and fellow artists who share this value and are willing to challenge traditional beauty standards. I believe that through collaboration and a commitment to diversity and inclusion, we can create powerful and impactful art that resonates with audiences from all backgrounds. Furthermore, as a Mexican actress, I also bring my unique cultural perspective to my work. I am committed to portraying Latinx individuals with nuance and complexity, challenging harmful stereotypes and showcasing the beauty and richness of our culture. In summary, as an artist, I am committed to challenging traditional beauty standards and promoting greater inclusivity and diversity in the industry. I believe that by working together, we can create impactful and authentic storytelling that reflects the true beauty and diversity of our world. One example of challenging traditional beauty standards in my work is the project I collaborated on in high school, where I played a character who did not conform to traditional Hollywood beauty standards. The play aimed to showcase the character's inner beauty and strength, rather than relying on her physical appearance to convey her value. I believe that this type of representation can be empowering for individuals who do not fit traditional beauty standards and can promote greater inclusivity in the industry. In my most recent theater production, I played a Latinx character who was struggling with her identity and cultural roots. The play explored themes of assimilation, intergenerational trauma, and the complexities of navigating multiple identities. Through this role, I was able to showcase the nuance and complexity of the Latinx experience and challenge harmful stereotypes. I believe that by portraying Latinx individuals in a nuanced and authentic way, we can promote greater understanding and empathy in our audiences.
