He was only in middle school an he seen things y  things you would never want to see at that age or at all.

One lesson I learned was too always keep your options to your self, because there is always fights,cause people like to put their too cents into other people's lives.

I feel like Ishmael has a more dangerous life. This is because he is living in a current state of war, where everyone is fighting against each other and violence is always happening. He never knows when he is going to die or if he is going to survive or not, since Sierra-Leonne was going through so many changes at the time. Dead bodies are all around Ishmael, signaling the bloodshed and dangers of war. 

To me, resilience means the ability to survive in a dangerous environment. 

One lesson I learned in Lincolnton was to always keep your eyes on the road, since there are so many wrecks almost every day. Sharp curves, turns, and intersections are always some of the main causes of wrecks here.
