Don't forget to mark Options for Youth as an "independent study" curriculum type of school

If you took a VVC or CSUSB class, that must be entered in the "Colleges you attended in High School" section

7. Need housing to go off to college (all of you except CSUSB kids do)

Do not leave these details out

1. Colleges are far away

2. Housing is a must for all but one college

3. Our area is underserved

4. College going atmosphere is difficult to promote up here

5. Our streets have super fast speeds and we do not have many sidewalks

6. The lighting of our streets is very poor

7. 5+6 mean that walking to and from events or tutoring is not very safe

8. Our school starts super early in the morning because we qualify for a waiver, so students like yourself are often operating on little to no sleep

But, you must appeal to each individual school separately. Here is how:

1. Call that school's admissions office

2. Say, "Hi, I am a high school senior who is interested in applying to your campus. I am in a low income, underserved area yet I was denied the fee waiver. I'd like to see if there is any way I can appeal this decision or if you have any application codes you'd like to offer"

3. From there, follow the instructions they give you

The worst they can say is no-but if you get a fee waiver out of it, it is worth your time!!

To complete the parent section, you typically need:

1. Your parents' income totals for 2024

2. Your Household Size (everyone living there)

3. Their occupation/job title

4. Their education level
