I pretend everything is dandy, even when it isn’t
I feel an overwhelming love for chocolate covered sprinkle doughnuts
I touch the small hands of my brother and wonder what their work will one day be
I worry that my hardest efforts won’t be good enough
I cry when I have to face the reality of my mother’s illnesses
I am committed and joyous 

I understand that hard times are not the absence of grace
I say that there is a plan bigger than I 
I dream of dancing in a tea length wedding dress to bluegrass music
I try to always give my 100%, even when I think I can’t
I hope to be a role model for all of those around me
