The Shah was very pro western, because well he was the CIA's puppet. Some good things he did was that he gave women the right to vote, and he built things like modern roads, and universities, but he had a very bad reputation of spending a lot on the military, and himself. the Economy crippled greatly and the people of Iran were mad. There were several protests. The Shah was forced to go to the United States. Ayatollah Khomeini called for him to be brought back to face charges.

Ayatollah Khomeini was supreme leader of Iran During the Iranian Revolution. He hated America as much as the people of Iran did. He took control because of that. In this time period people protested a lot, they were shouting "Death to America" in iranian. it was not a good time to be an American in Iran. Eventually the hostage crisis at the U.S. embassy happened and 52 americans were taken hostage by Iranian students who supported the Ayatollah. The hostages were paraded around the streets blindfolded. They were like trophies. Iranians were mad because they blamed America for the state their country was in. They blamed them for losing the Iran-Iraq War, and the U.S. even shot down an Iranian passenger plane in 1988, there were a lot of reasons why Iran hated America in that time period. He was considered a hero by they Iranian people and they looked up to him that is why the revolution happened.

Ayatollah Khamenei took over power from took over power as the new supreme leader after Ayatollah Khomeini died in 1989. The tension has decreased since America and Iran signed the nuclear deal diminishing the nuclear threat from Iran. But since President Trump's new travel ban prohibiting travelers from many countries including Iran access into the U.S. has been released, here is what he had to say "It was what we have said for more than 30 years - that there is political, economic, moral and social corruption in the ruling system of the US. This gentleman came and brought it out into the open in the election and after the election." He was going back to the revolutionary days and how people thought about America and this is how he feels. Many people are outraged by the travel ban and it was beginning to brighten for the two countries struggling to have a good relationship with each other.

Ahmadinejad is best known for being president in the time period when Iran's economy was the worst. During his presidency the country's currency Rial lost half it's value. America put sanctions on them After the revolution and for refusing to shut down its nuclear program. It greatly crippled the economy. Also he had issues with other countries like Israel. He was calling for Israel to be "wiped off the map" and made some shady remarks about the holocaust. this made many countries mad. Over all he did not help his country grow he just made life worse for his people dropping the GDP per capita to a measly $4,763.

Hassan Rouhani helped create the Iran Deal with America. He was popular because he helped remove the sanctions off iran and now the economy is way better and the GDP per capita is 174,516,860 in rials the country's currency. And if you talk to anyone on the street and ask them about America they will have a totally different response than someone 30 years ago. People actually like America, they like their culture and what they are and they try to embrace it. The youth especially likes America they try to follow the latest trends from America. They wear nice clothes speak english they are very fond of the American culture. Women's rights have not improved though they are still viewed as 2nd class citizens and can't do things like leave the country without permission. Hassan Rouhani has changed Iran for the greater good of his people, and he has brought back economic growth, but there are still problems with women's rights, and what the iranian people think of americans has changed drastically for the better.
