In conclusion, I believe all three Theorist contribution to Constructivism and Cognitive Development in children is remarkable. Each theorist produced great research on the stages and assumptions of cognitive development in children through different methods. A few of the concepts have similar themes but there are two that I believe still hold true today and line up quite well with my vision of teaching, learning and technology in the 21st Century. Social interaction, engagement, cultural backgrounds have an huge effect on the teacher, faciliator and the learner within the educational field both andragogy and pedagogy. Play helps to stretch children cognitively. We know this to be true for adult learners as well. Learning and development trainings that use storytelling, role-play and gamification methods help to promote creativity, collaborative team oriented environments, critical thinking and problem solving skills. Having a background is sociology, I do believe at birth infants possess intellectual capabilities and as we grow our cognitive development are greatly influenced by our social interactions, engagement and culture experiences fostered by adults, peers and educators. Learning should be creative, innovative, flexible and inclusive to all learners.
