3. Knowledge Authority: You don’t need to be the only authority. Intention is to encourage collaboration, enhance learning, and build critical thinking by incorporating diverse perspectives.

This is done by setting class norms, exercising open communication, setting up class activities that encourage active participation, and continuous support through office hours.

As a coach, you should acknowledge such scenarios and create room for everyone to share their perspectives/ideas/opinions.

You also create a team in class based on the level of understanding to have a varied team. This helps students learn from the MKO (More knowledgeable others).

A coach needs to exercise the value of constant learning.

To maintain that atmosphere, I keep checking in, not just academically, but emotionally. I reflect often on my own biases, and I continue learning. I also actively encourage different voices in the room, especially those that might normally stay silent. It’s about trust, and I work on building it every day.

This would make sure become more active, not to be passive participants hence being able to express their opinions, make choices thus influencing what and how they learn.

I would say No, simply because in an inclusive and collaborative setting(classroom), the teacher or facilitator should not be the only knowledge authority.

As you bring expertise , your role is also to guide, facilitate and create space for shared learning where every students' experience, background and perspective contribute to the collective Knowledge.
