I began my educational career in Ohio as a substitute teacher/teacher assistant. After my first year substituting, I was given an opportunity to have a permanent teacher assistant sub position for a year and took the opportunity. The following year, I was hired by the school system and worked there for an additional two years before moving to North Carolina. After being in North Carolina for almost two years, I was hired by CMS as a teacher assistant. During my third year, I entered a lateral entry program to teach middle school science.
