Although we goofed off, a lot, we still had made sure to work hard. I learned a lot from my group, and I look forward to working with them again. I like the small bit of diversity in our group. Although we didn't have all of the instruments in our small group and not many people, we still worked well with what we had. We learned how to blend, play the right notes, and use out creative ideas to make the music work with us. We did have fun while also having a good work ethic while working. Even though there was only one viola versus four violins, we did create nice and cool music. We were all prepared for the following performance as a group. The next goal is to sound as best we can on the date. Since we do have a lot of weeks until then. And then finally is to not "get off-topic" during group time. The freedom to choose pieces that we really enjoyed and really enjoyed playing made this mini-concert fun to practice and play. The performance itself was actually really good and I am very proud of it. We managed for a large part to play the way we practiced. We kept tempo, most notes were in tune and most importantly we stayed together even if we messed up. As a musician, I think this thought me the importance of listening as well as having confidence in my playing. Often times I would be the only one playing my part so it was important that I played loud instead of relying on others in my section. I also had to listen for cues to come in and when my parts were in sync with others because there was no conductor to guide me. Yay! However, the run through is still not exactly 100%. Intonation especially the flat notes and the accidentals definitely need some finetuning. The group is doing pretty well together, but we are having difficulties staying focused and on task. There really aren't any red flags, all our music is playable we just need to practice a bit more. Some pieces like Mama Mia and Sunayama are already coming together nicely.
