Activities- mostly just collaboration- which is what our department deems important

Structure- very structured- information, questions, thoughts, collaboration

Outcomes- different for each class/content area-

• We share food and set time to catch up with subject alike classes

• After the social catch-up, we get on with our agenda; cover announcements; address issues, etc.

• Then, we break out into subject-alike teams and discuss grading, common formative assessments, etc.

• Outcomes are met; those that are moving targets are continuously discussed and we seek input/advice, etc.

Activities: We are good at all the activities.

Structure: Yes structure is good as well-- we always have a clear agenda and carve out specific time for subject alike time every meeting.

Outcome: We are definitely focused on the goal stated-- we are super collaborative and enjoy sharing resources / stories / strategies / snacks with each other during each meeting.

Activities - again, this doesn't often happen without complaining.

Structure - there is organization with slides, a focus for the meeting, etc.

Outcome - most of the time it turns into complaining about whatever the topics are.

Activities: Similar to Purpose, we have difficulty aligning our goals

Structure: We have difficulty getting all members in the room at the same time

Outcome: Greatest outcome is simply commiserating, sharing news, touching base with each other (all of which is important)

Activities - we could do better in sharing

Structure - good enough

Outcome - the dept always gets things done.

Activities: Sharing ideas about our department as a whole and how to improve or change our department-wide practices

Structure: Start with a fun/SEL question, then announcements, then department-wide discussion of any goals, then subject-alike time

Outcome: ideally to have time to plan together under a shared department-wide "vision"

ACTIVITIES- Some years we do better at data analysis than others. We create subject-alike rubrics and calibrate students' writing skills.

STRUCTURE- We have a predictable structure but it isn't always respected.

OUTCOME- We didn't share as much last year as we set out to. We share informally in our subject-alike groups but should share best practices more in front of the entire department as we always enjoy and learn from those PLCs.

Activities: we help each other with new practices and improve our techniques

Structure: Seperate times at brunch due to coaches schedules

Outcome: Goal is to improve fitness levels while learning to respect and appreciate our differences
