It has very hot, dry summers and mild,rainy winters. 
Receieves about 38-100 cm in rain a year.
 Tempatures range from 40-65° F in the winter and 60-85° F in the summer .
Elevation ranges from the sea to 1500m.
Wind directions depends on what time of the year ,  often from the east from June to October which peaks in August and from the west in October to June which peaks in January

Unfortunately due to an increase in human actitivity in chaparral biomes which is ironically what a majority of Southern California is considered to be, there was been a rising number of human related fires in these biomes. The increase in these avoidable fires has caused the chaparral to die out and be replaced with non-native annual grasses at an alarming rate.
Solution: 
There are many solutions to try and combat these disturbances from the Chaparral Biomes. Some more extreme than others. I believe humans must be held accountable for their actions by being fined if responsible for causing fires.
