Both of the CRP I believe are two principals that work together to create a system of creating a healthy classroom environment. As a white teacher I believe it to be critically important to have emancipatory value in the foundation to the classroom. Students need to feel safe and respected in the classroom. I think I could find texts that relate to most students and their identities but I would hate for a student to feel left out or disengaged from the material without me noticing. But to help this fear, I would try to obtain feedback from students in order to know what materials are connecting to students and validating their experiences and what materials are not challenging or connecting to them.
