Do you agree with the speaker? State your opinion and provide reasons for your stand.

On my opinion, this kindergarden provided a really good environment to the children, I am agree with the speaker. First, the special design of the kindergarden break down the existing concept of "kindergarden", it made kindergarden not just a place for children to have academic lessons but also a place for kids to tap their hidden potentials and learn how to live in the world. In the video, the children are not under full control of the teachers while they are playing, they are facing the potential threat and going to bear the consequences due to their actions. Children learnt to avoid danger through these little injury and become vigilant. Beside that, children learn to socialise in a such non-boundary environment, they are going to be more extraversion through this, children who with hidden mental problem may get the chance to overcome their trouble through communications with others in school life. Then, the children learnt the importance of cooperation. Due to their short height, they have to help each other while climbing up or down the spiral stairway and this build the spirit of teamwork in children, strengthen the relationship between children. All of these contribute to the birth of a world of harmony in human relationship.

I do agree with the speaker. In my opinion, this kindergarten knows the nature of a kid very well. For example they know that children will get nervous if the children are put in a quiet box so they do not build any boundaries between classrooms.Besides, there is a annex building right next to the kindergarten that provides small dosage of danger as the ceiling is low. This enables children to learn how to help each other that hardly learn in society nowadays. Moreover, the oval-shape kindergarten enables children to run all over because the principal knows that children are belong to outside. Also, when they fall down, they learn how to live in this world.

I agreed with the speaker about these 3 point. For the first concept, I am not familiar with autism and the 'sound' but I think it does working since there is no problematic symptom with the children. But there is no border line between the classes is an agreeable point, remove potential possibility of discrimination always help with easier management and improvement of the conscious of children. Next, children learning and helping each other on their own is a very important aspect for the current japan. In the recent years, young Japanese mostly care about their own life and ignore most thing that is not related with their current life. A change of conscious for the next generation of Japanese is an important task for the japan government too. The concept of free space for the children is also producing good results. Unlike the average children nowadays, the children in this kindergarten have good athletic abilities. Lastly, i agreed with architecture is able to change the life of human.
-------------------------------------------------------
<del>seriously the japan government should do something (not like conscripting student and women into firefighter)
</del>

This kindergarten was built in 2007 and the founder of this kindergarten build to be a circle. The reason why the founder of this kindergarten to be a circle because it is more safe and special. The circle is actually protecting the children 360 degree so that the kindergarten teacher will not be so stress. The children of this kindergarten has the freedom to wonder around when they don’t want to be in the classroom. The kindergarten’s teacher all are very open minded to leave the children alone because they know that the child will come back eventually. Furthermore, this kindergarten helps children to learn some very important social skill such as working together, responsibility, communication skill, self-confidence and so on. These social skills help children by building their own personality and their character well. This is why I think this kindergarten is very good.

Do you agree with the speaker? State your opinion and provide reasons for your stand.
~ I think the kindergarden have a good design. The kindergarden designed in 2007 and they made kindergarden to be a big circle. I agree with the speaker. In my opinions, the circle kindergardenis good for kids. This is because it is more safe and no dangerous for kids. The kindergarden knows the kids, he knows children will get nervous when we put children in a quiet box. So, this is not problem for them because the kindergarden is no boundary. Moreover, the kindergarden will let the children go and no need to worry about the children because it is a circle so the children will come back. The kindergarden thinks the concept of the kids leave and come back is a natural process. Then, they think that children are supposed to be outside. The children can learn some social skills. For examples, the children need small dosage of danger and learn to help each others. This is a society and kind of opportunity we are losing nowadays. Furthermore, the kindergarden's point is dont't control and protect too much for children. The children need to tumble sometimes and get some injury because that makes them to learn how to live in this world.

Firstly, the kindergarten is completely open, most if the year and no boundary between inside and outside , that means this architecture is roof. Rather than impose physical boundaries on the children, this architect Takaharu Tezuka designed the kindergarten as a continuous space that allows for unfettered learning and playing. Moreover, they also consider noise is very important. Surprisingly, the speaker mention that children sleep better in noise and they don't sleep in quiet place. The free plan design encourages independent and collaboration, without forcing children to sit still and silent for long periods of time.Furthermore, the roof area doubles as a playground and running track, giving the students an endless ring to chase each other around. The speaker also mention that, don't control the children , don't protect them too much and they need to tumble sometimes because this makes them learn how to face the problems and how to live in this world.Children also learn the important of collaboration and mutual support. The children have to help each other while climbing up or down in stairway and this will enhance their kindness and unselfishness. Finally, this architect based kindergarten become one if the attempts to change the life of children.

It is not an obvious statement and not a personal opinion.

b) A good claim is specific and not general.

Task 2
I think the design of the kindergarten is very thoughtful. Firstly, the circle design is safer because although it is a huge, 'confined' space, children are allowed to interact with other children from other classes easily. By building around the trees not only can increase the fun for children around the kindergarten area it also allows some elements of nature to enter the classroom to make the overall classroom feels more relaxed compared to a sterile, concrete classroom. The rooftop are lower so that the teachers can still monitor the actions of the children and also reduce the risk of the children getting serious injuries when falling down. By not having any barriers between classrooms children not only can socialise easily but also concentrate better in a noisier environment. An environment which is so quiet that one can hear a pin drop not only decreases a person's concentration it also increases the feeling of anxiety during stress-heavy situation like during examination. The design of the kindergarten also teach children on how to help others when facing dangers which is lacking in the society nowadays.

Secondly, kids is sleep well in a noisy environment. so they can show amazing concentration in class. Next the annex building which locate beside the kindergarten. Due to the architecture of this building, they learn how to help each other. This oval shape kindergarten can develop the children athletics abilities, due to their principal want to let the children run all over the compound. when the children falls , they get some injury. They were build for children to learn about the world by them self. Building trees in kindergarten and let children climb the trees freely was a great idea. This makes the children explore the natural beauty and learn to help each other . Furthermore, the kindergarten was build without classrooms which makes no "barrier" upon the children. This idea was great as it can prevent social problems happened nowadays. Other than that, the kindergarten also has social activities such as helping teachers decorating kindergarten. This activities was highly recommend as the children and the teachers able to build bonds and learn to respect each other. In addition, the kindergarten also build roof circling the kindergarten and giving the kids access to the roof. I totally agree with this idea, letting the children expose them self to small danger of the world, giving the small exposure to the real world and learn not to give up. In conclusion, this kindergarten architecture style was a great idea and able to change the future generation children lifestyle.

In my opinion, the design of no boundary between inside and outside of classroom is better for children because most children are active and cannot sit properly in a room and learn. With this design, they will not feel trapped in a room because they can feel the atmosphere and hear the noise from the outside. Therefore, they can be more concentrate to the lesson taught by the teacher. Beside that, it is easier for children to communicate and make friends in noisy environment. Thus, they can learn some social skills and the kindergarten will have lesser autistic child. The annex building beside the kindergarten can also let the children learn to cooperate and help each other and develop their athletic abilities.

The barrier-less design has given the opportunity for children to be more active. Since Mr. Takaharu said that they made this design to be no boundary between inside and outside of the classroom, this encouraged children to be more active and walk around and not just sitting in a classroom like other kindergarten did. Secondly, the team wanted to provide children a space to practice to help each others, and communicate to each other, so they have built an annex building, which has accomplished what they want that building to be. The designs are so well-thought by the architecture team and given the opportunity for children to be more active. Since Mr. Takaharu Tezuka said that they made this design to be no boundary between inside and outside of the classroom, this encouraged children to be more active and walk around and not just sitting in a classroom like other kindergarten did. Secondly, the team wanted to provide children a space to practice to help each others, and communicate to each other, so they have built an annex building, which has accomplished what they want that building to be. So, I agree that architect can surely change people's life.

This kindergarten was designed in a form of a circle which suits the nature if children which is their activeness and its designed with an open roof which allows the teachers to supervise them from below. Next, the idea of building a net below the trees of the kindergarten which allows the children to interact with the trees by climbing and hanging on the tree without having any thought of danger. The open classroom architecture is also another good design which allows the children run around and meet their friends from another class. This also improves their social skills by making friends from another class. I totally agree with the idea parents should not control their children when they are young and not to protect them too much but to let them to run around and explore things as children are very curious
which makes them learn how to live in this world once they are matured.

Children are very active and this kindergarten are open so the children will be exposed to the outer world more. This can also trigger their potentials in many things which help them to learn things quickly and think out of the box. The overall environment is relaxed and more interesting instead of a normal and typical kindergarten where children have to sit in their respective position in a classroom. The design is aspect of safety is also well-thought to avoid any child is exposed to danger or life-threatening situations. This kindergarten which is designed with a circle open roof not only allows children to run around endlessly, it also allows them to take in some fresh air during breaks. The open roof also provides a good spectator's view from above while simultaneously allowing teachers to supervise the children closely from below or above. The idea with the trees and the net is also a good one because it allows children to have fun together without putting them in danger and it also allows the children to have some body exercise when climbing the tree. Next, the open classroom design which has no physical barriers between classroom, allows the children to mentally feel like they are not in a "cage" when they're studying, and this will help them to improve not only their social skills but they can study better without feeling stressed out. The kindergarten also has an annex building which is similar to a playground and it allows children to exercise while playing with each other, improving their social skills and physical at the same time. It also provides children a small dose of danger, which helps children to determine what is dangerous in the future. This kindergarten emphasizes on the part where we should not control children too much and let them learn themselves so that they can triumph in their future life

It is not an opinion and it must be arguable and provable by evidence.

Task 2:
What do you think of this kindergarten? Do you agree with the speaker? State your opinion and provide reasons for your stand.
In my opinion, I agree with the speaker. I think the kindergarten's design is a very inspiring concept. It is designed as a circle and there are no boundaries. The building doesn't end at any point, it just keeps going round and round. This allows the children to run freely without getting lost. There are no boundaries and acoustic barriers between classrooms. It is an open space. This allows noise going all around the kindergarten. It reduces the chances of children having autistic symptoms and other problems. Some children become nervous in a quiet and restricted space. Therefore, there is no reason to be nervous in this boundless kindergarten. All these aspects encourage children to think out of the box and to have an open mindset. They also have trees coming up from the roof with nets around them to prevent the kids from falling into the holes. This design is interesting to children because they think it is fun to be in the net. Moreover, there is also an annex building that is five meters tall and has seven floors. The children climb up and down of the building and they can jump off the edges. The speaker mentioned that kids need small dosage of danger. In this case, the kids will try to help each other to get down safely and they build friendships. Sometimes, the kids will get injured. They need to fall down and get back up. This teaches them how to live in this world. Kids are supposed to be outside and free. We should not control them too much as they will learn through obstacles when they face them.

Task 1

a) What is a claim?

- A claim is a statement that is arguable and can be proven by evidence.

b) What are the criteria of good claims?

- A good claim is specific and arguable. It can be supported and proved by the evidence.

Task 2

What do you think of this kindergarten? Do you agree with the speaker? State your opinion and provide reasons for your stand.

- In my opinion, I think that this kindergarten has an excellent design with just a circular shape. I agree with what the speaker’s said on the video. First, the school consists of a ground floor that full of classrooms and an open second floor with just a low rooftop that allow for the children to play on and run around freely without getting lost. It also allows children to get the golden opportunity to get close to nature since there are lots of trees growing throughout it and they can play and climb on the trees in and around the building. Besides, the speaker keeps the idea around the trees by installing rope nets around the gaps in the floor from which the trees protrude. This will help to protect children without having any danger when they play on the trees and nets and the teachers don’t have to worry so much about them falling onto the kids studying below. In addition, the classrooms aren’t really like rooms because there is no boundary between classrooms so this allow the children to move freely from one room to another. This also enable them to make more friends from different classes and they can play with each other. There is another building in the school which is the Annex Building, it is five meters tall with seven floors and just a circular shape again because the speaker knows that children like to run in circles. This is just a play area like a playground for the children to perform some activities such as climbing. The open edges around the structure allow the children to take more risks and taste some small dosage of danger. In this case, the children will learn to help each other naturally. Next, we don’t protect our children too much because they need to tumble sometimes and they need to get some injury. This will make them learn how to live in this world. In conclusion, this kindergarten not only lets the kids run more freely, but also teaches them about life.

I agree with the speaker because this kindergarten is designed especially for infants in developing their childhood mentally and physically. The circular rooftop and mainly the shape of the kindergarten makes it does not consist end point which allows the children to run freely and provide an easy job for the teachers in finding the children. Since there is no boundary inside and outside of the kindergarten, which indicated that the bond between the children is rigid and inseparable and perhaps we can give credit to the trees in the kindergarten. The slides show that the children have interest in climbing trees until a boy tends to 'eat' them. During the climbing process, the children will learn how to work together to climb a tree. For the annex building, parents and teachers need not to be worried too much because the ceiling of the building is not too high for the children. In a nutshell, this kindergarten has considered the best in thriving children by having the facilities that are healthy in developing children which can prevent children to have autism.

The kindergarten is unique and different from the normal kindergarten which we see in daily life. Children will not feel restricted as there is no walls between the classes. They are free to move around, run in the kindergarten and climb the trees with their friends. The rooftop is built around the trees based on the design. There will be nets surrounded the tree to provide safety when the kids falling down from climbing. Moreover, there is an annex building for the children to play. This building is 5 meters tall with 7 floors which is safe to climb or jump. The boundaries between children become stronger when they trying to help each others in playing. This kindergarten provides a freely and safety place for the children to learn, play and have fun. Children are not scolded when they running around. In other hand, parents and teachers let them run. They get injured afterwards, know the pain and learn from that.

Task 1:
(a)A claim is a statement that can be argued and proven with evidence. A claim is not an obvious statement and personal opinion.

(b)A good claim is specific and arguable. Evidence can be used to prove the claim.

Task 2:
In my opinion, the kindergarten that the speaker built provides a very suitable environment for the children to grow and learn. The success of the kindergarten is due to his deep understanding in the nature of the children. The design itself is very unique. The round shape of the building and its roof allow children to run around the area. And since here are no boundaries between classrooms , it gives children to interact with other freely and easily. The kindergarten is also surrounded with trees which allows children to be closer to nature. Besides that, children is free to do the things they want instead of being confined in the classroom. They can climb the trees, run around and more. I like the idea of the kindergarten that children are taught by experiences instead of fully on books. Nowadays, parents are very protective towards their children. This way is not effective because children will not learn from there. In the kindergarten, children is allowed to run or climb, and if they fall, they will learn from their lesson. It makes them more self aware. Children has to tumble sometimes to understand.

Task1
a）A claim is a statement that can be proven by evidence and can be argued.
b）A good claim is specific and arguable. Evidence can be used to prove the claim.

Task2
I agree with the speaker. In my opinion, the kindergarten is very special and unique when compare with others. This kindergarten provides a very suitable and comfortable environment for the children. Children did not feel constrain as there are no walls between boundaries of classes. Besides, there are trees surrounded in kindergarten, the children will keep a touch with the nature. There are safety nets surrounded the tree so the children can climb the trees safety with low risk injured. Furthermore, this kindergarten built an annex building with just 5 meter tall and have 7 floors for children to play. This height is safe for children to climb or jump among the floor. Children can also learn how to help each other when they want to help others climbing down the floors. The speaker had said that children need some small injured, I agree with that. Parents nowadays are too protective towards their children, if the childrens does not learn small lesson when they are still small, their attitudes are hard to change when they are growing up. Children has to “fall” sometimes to learn some lesson.
