Yes， I have already understood the principle of account and basic of taxation. Not only that , I were doing practice on handling full set of account for the whole week .

 

The thing that I enjoyed the most is the satisfaction of doing the account correctly and able to balance the working capital of every set of account . This is because I need to pay a lot of attention while doing account ,even a very minor mistake will lead to an unbalance balance sheet. 

 

 

As a beginner , one of the things that is to stay focus for a long time while doing accounting . As i am using the traditional way to learn accounting , we need to record a lot of transaction and information by writing .Therefore , it is really tiring to focus for a long time and in the same time , try to avoid any mistake . Another thing that I find it challenging is understanding and counting the concept of depreciation of fixed asset .I found it hard to calculate the depreciation of the fixed asset at first because I didn’t really know the concept of depreciation. 

 

The thing that worked that is I am able to complete a full set of account with little assistance now and I am very proud .In the beginning , I was doubtful that if I can learn to do account in just two months time and I did it ! This is because my tutor has made everything simple  , so I can understand it well .  

 

Even though I have learned to do a full set account , accounting knowledge is very vast . Therefore , I have to do more self-study in able to know more about accounting .Other than that , if I ever have a chance , I would do an internship in an accounting firm to gain more knowledge and improve practically .

Week 4 : 9th August-15th August

1. Were the objectives of the project fulfilled?

Yes, all the objectibes were fulfilled. For past one month, it is all about learning the theory behind baking. I started realizing that by putting the knowledge into practice all the theory started making sense. If you understanding about baking is good, the you are good to go. 

2. What have you enjoyed or liked the most about the project?

The journey. It has been an interesting journey because i have never felt so calm in learning. As a medical student, everything is so rushed like sometimes i really feel like i have no time to breathe. However, this EP is another story. It was so calming with its steady pace i could absorb new knowledge like a sponge. And sometimes making mistakes during baking process made me more diligent with my choices but also helped me understand the process of baking better.

3. What have you found challenging about this project? (any part of the project you found hard to do)

To be honest, baking is not always sunshines and rainbows. There are a few times that i failed especially when making the mixture. Sometimes, some recipes need a little bit of “instinct use” for it to come out perfect and that is very challenging for a beginner like me. It took me a while to rethink next steps as i do not want to waste my ingredients.

4. What has really worked? (any part in the project that you thought worked well)

To be honest, I started this project with little knowledge. However, learning from online sources has been a significant success to me. Without the help of the online course and recipes from internet, nothing would have been possible.

5. What can be improved in this project?

I think the important part that i can improve is my recipes. I opted for easier recipes since i still have low self confidence and afraid of falling. I wish i had more courage to try out the challenging recipes.

 

 

Yes the objectives were fulfilled , I wanted to learn how to use sign language to communicate with the deaf community and I now can start a conversation with them. This is my way of showing that the deaf community is not neglected and that I value them as equals.

 

 

The thing I enjoyed most is learning a new language and a way new way of communication. It was very interesting and challenging at the same time but I liked that it challenged me to learn something new.

 

The most challenging is learning the hand signals and facial expression as in ASL. I have never done this before and it was hard at first but as I kept on practising it was easier than before.

 

 

The hand signals has worked well for me because I find it hard to remember all the different hand signals but as I went along it has really worked for me.

 

A longer period would be better to master this new language for me and alot of practising and communicating will be very helpful for me.

Yes,the objectives were fulfilled because I am able to learn and understand the basic sign language. By having this knowledge, now I will be able to communicate with the deaf community more easily.

I enjoyed every topic that I have learned throughout this course because every single thing has its own sign to be expressed in a communication. I really enjoyed in learning this sign language because I am able to start and learn at my own pace and all the videos,quizzes and simple tasks provided in this course really make me understand the signs better.Furthermore,learning this new knowledge really make me understand that communication by signs and face expression are very helpful in having a good communication with the deaf.

The most challenging part throughout this course is to remember every different sign that I have learned. Without practising and revising it everyday, I might forget certain signs that I know. Other than that,the challenging part is to do the videos that have to be submitted for every topic which is a bit time-consuming for me because I need to submit it first before I can proceed to learn the next topic.

Watching the provided videos repeatedly really helps me to remember the signs easily.Throughout this entire course,I managed to do hand signs for my own name fastly as I remember all the alphabets really well and practise it daily.

This project can be improved by having experience direct or virtual conversation with the deaf itself and the teachers. For me, having a conversation with them will help me to improve and remember the signs much better so that I can understand and experience how the communication with the deaf would be. 

The objectives for my elective posting was fulfilled. My aim is to learn new recipes of various types of food such as traditional kuih muih ( kuih apam mekar, kuih keria gula melaka) and I managed to bake some sausage bread. Besides, I managed to give myself an opportunity to grow up my skill and potential in baking and cooking.

Cooking class was a lot of fun and I personally learned a lot, I learned skills to baking, kneading and more. it’s the skill I’m most proud of learning. I enjoyed baking and cooking very much during elective posting even though sometimes the result turns out not as expected. I learned on the mistake that I make and managed to perform well in other try. And the most important things are I managed to try many recipes (especially kuih muih) that usually I bought from stall. 

As I have mention before, cooking and baking is not simple as we think (especially related to the pastry). It is all about patience and practice, if we fail, then we should review the recipes and learn from mistake and try again cause practice make perfect. During week 2, I managed to make my Kuih Apam Mekar after trying it 3 times (I almost give up). In baking especially, need to follow the recipes accurately, slight changes can affect the result. As beginner, I made many mistake during the proses, but I managed to learn what should I do, what should I avoid.  

 

Since I’m beginner, I was pretty happy with how my every recipes turned out especially sausage bread. I never thought that I can make my own bread myself in first try. It is very satisfying and enjoyable. 

I would like to try more recipes for bread and cake and learn how to decorate the cake. If possible, I would like to make mini recipes book for the recipes that I have a try.
