Teaser: In this cute story about new friends and making them smile, Albert the Bear is placed in a toy shop and with his expression on his face it looks like he is sad all the time. So one day, all the toys in the store try to do things to make him smile.
Teaching Idea: For this lesson I would discuss the theme of friendship with the class. Including connecting them to see what they would do for their friends. I would read this story aloud and then have the students write to the prompt of all the things I would do to make my friends smile. Or I would not give them a prompt and have them write a journal entry on how they made a friend smile. It would go along with a pay it forward theme.

Teaching Idea: this books is mainly for a younger audience, but it is an important book because it talks about the ideas of individuality and self-esteem which are important ideas to talk about with a younger audience to instill that in them from a young age. So as I'm teaching them in a read aloud session I would include their thoughts and ideas about what is going on in the story.

Teaser: This is a super cute poem that talks about modern kids two favorite things: toys and puppies! Its a great poem for kids with a silly ending.
Teaching Idea: I liked this poem because it relates to the modern technology that's in the world. I would use this poem to make connections to the student's own lives. Constantly asking them throughout what have they used before and how would they feel if one of their pets had eaten their toys. I could also use this poem to talk about rhyming words.

I would also have them explore the different habitats that they live in.

Teaching Idea: I would use this book as a nonfiction book in my library. I would also use this to help educate my students about the environment and different things we as humans can do to help protect these amazing creatures from harmful practices that we do. I think for a project I would have the kids do a small research project on ocean animals and have them pick their favorites use this book as a reference to it.
