At first, we only had plants in our tower gardens, and we didn't have the garden beds. Now that everyone has there own plant, the garden is a lot more full and growing. I have contributed to the garden by planting my own blackberry plant, and also helping Ms. Anderson harvest plants. My blackberry plant is doing pretty well, today I checked on it and it has one flower and multiple buds! Instead of having everyone have to drive to the super market to get something like lettuce, you are able to grow it by yourself. This would reduce trips made to the super market, lowering cartoon deposits from cars. It also allows there to be less shipment of fruits and vegetables to super markets, also reducing carbon being let into the Earth. If everyone had and used a tower garden, we would be more sustainable because everyone is providing for themselves. The excess food that would be shipped to our grocery stores, could start to be shipped places that don't have the resources that we do. Tower gardens allow us to provide for yourself, also saving you money. Though the initial cost to buy the tower garden itself may be higher than just going to the store to buy the strawberries you want, you be able to begin to grow plants that would be producing these fruits more than just once. Though, I believe that this is something that many people would say that they don't have time and effort for, because taking care of the tower garden and the plants themselves take a lot of effort and time. Buying food from the store is a faster and more efficient way for most, though I believe that if everyone would consider using tower gardens at their home, it could help reduce our carbon footprint and water wasting. Tower gardens only use about 10% of the water that is used on a farm, so you are saving water and money by using tower gardens. As I stated, it reduces shipment of goods that are brought into our grocery stores, because people are able to grow their own food.
