         <title>Frederick Douglass</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Frederick Douglass was adopted into slavery.<br>2. He exchanged bread with the kids in town for knowledge. <br>3. His Mistress taught him the alphabet. <br>4. Douglass attempted to escape slavery many times growing up. <br>5. He finally escaped slavery in 1838.<br>6. After escaping slavery he became a famous speaker and writer fighting to end slavery. <br>7. In in 1872 he was nominated for vice president of the United States. <br>8. His first wife helped him escape slavery. <br>9. He helped teach other slaves to read. <br>10. When he was young he thought he wanted to be a slave for life. <br>11. Reading made Douglass educated about slavery and he realized all the bad things about slavery. <br>12. He created a schoolbook to share his views on human rights. <br>13. His mistress wanted to teach him but his master refused to let her. <br>14. His Mistress was very nice and welcoming until slavery started to change her into a violent person. <br>15. He lived in Master Hugh's house with his family</div>]]></description>

She was a conductor on the underground railroad after escaping slavery. <br>8. Her name was Araminta Ross but changed it after her mom<br>9. She had the nickname Moses. <br>10.
