1. I think the meaning of the Christmas Truce was for everyone to take a break and for everyone to see that they might have different views and different opinions, but they all can still come together for one day and have peace
2. I think the most important aspect of the relationship between the soldiers and officers that deals with the Christmas Truce was that the officers wanted to make sure that the soldiers to know that they don't make the decisions, since most of the soldiers wanted to end the war
3.

1. I think the meaning of the Christmas truce is that people cannot go on constantly hating and fighting. At one point or another a break is needed. What the soldiers probably needed most in this moment was to spend Christmas with a celebration. Everyone typically grows up and goes through life celebrating either with family or friends.
3. I think that the relationship shows an obvious leadership in the official's position. The soldiers typically have to obey their officials but during this truce it was almost like the officials didn't even matter.

1.This shows that even in the middle of a war everyone wants to celebrate Christmas together even if they are enemies. The solders wanted a break from the war to celebrate a holiday.
3.The solders are the ones fighting and the officers are the ones telling them to go out and pretty much die. But that day the officers told them to go back and they got really upset.
4. German-
Christ was born today
British-

1. I think the overall meaning of the Christmas truce was that even during rough times even enemies can come together and have fun. I think this truce also showed that these countries do not have to remain enemies and can get along with each other.
2. I think is the most important aspect of the relationship between officers and soldiers and how that relationship affected by the Christmas truce is that the officers had the authority to do what ever they wanted, and the soldiers had to follow the officers orders, so the soldiers had to go back to fighting even if they were mad about it.
Haikus from the standpoints of a German and a British soldiers in regards to the Christmas truce:
No fight is coming

I think that the meaning of the christmas truce was that the soldiers were not happy with the current conditions that they were living and that they still wanted peace and happiness among both sides.
3. The officers and soldiers had to both come to an understanding that they wanted to stop fighting and enjoy this day for peace. But, when it came down to it, the officers always had the overall control over the soldiers. And when the officers told them to go back to the trench and fight again the soldiers were not happy
4. muddy muddy days
soon to drift away yay yay
the Germans are fun

1. The overall meaning of the Christmas truce is that Christmas is (for Christians) when Jesus was born. This symbolizes a time for peace and gratitude for everyone around us, and to have a war midst this peaceful holiday would cause uproar in the future. Keeping Christmas pure of hatred is important, even to those in the middle of a war.
3. The relationship between the commanders/officers and the soldiers was that they controlled all aspects of the war (except the physical fighting). SOo, they told the soldiers what to do. But by continuing the war after a time of peace for Christmas probably let them all down. Soldiers were upset because they wanted a truce and were in a good place, but the officers ruined that.
4. Germany-->
British--> Waiting for the fight,
Happy to hear, Christmas truce!
Celebrate for all
