I haven't been able to attend Worthwhile Wednesday lately due to basketball :( but I have incorporated several things from the beginning of the year! During Pirate Monday we read a Read Works article about how to make a map and then used Plickers to answer the comprehension questions instead of doing the worksheet! I simply copied and pasted all of the worksheet questions into Plickers instead! They loved it and I loved having instant feedback and no papers to tote home & grade. I have also been using Seesaw "Activities" that Kacie showed me to replace several worksheets in my ELA Families and to assess our Math standards. I used Flipgrid for an "I love you because..." Grandparents Day presentation and plan to use it for Veteran's Day and Turkey writings. On Thursday, my class participated in a whole group Breakout Edu. It was a Pirate themed (of course) math review. They were ecstatic to find and solve the clues that lead to the treasure. I LOVE Worthwhile Wednesdays!! All of these awesome ideas and tools I can implement. It's a first year teacher's dream. Beats the HECK out of regular old faculty meetings if you ask me! I'm counting down the Wednesdays until basketball is over so I can be a WWW regular again.

It is fun to talk one on one with some great teachers and hear what new strategies they are trying out. Also, Kacie amazes me with her knowledge of SeeSaw. I'm not sure how to incorporate the BreakOut EDU boxes/locks (Dottie is going to show me, aren't you, Dottie?), but I enjoyed that WW very much even though we didn't win :

I'm looking forward to incorporating a break out EDU in the near future. I always enjoy hearing what others are doing, even if it doesn't pertain to math. I tuck the information away because you never know when you might be able to use it. It's really some of the most useful PD that I've found, and it's always nice to visit with colleagues that you don't see very often. I believe Worthwhile Wednesdays are transforming our building culture. #thefutureisbright
