Teoh: “Good morning sir, may I take your time for doing a short interview about the activity that we are doing by today?”

Teacher Tamizi: “Sure, please have a seat.”

Teoh: “Hi sir, my name is Teoh Cerng Herd, you can call me Teoh as well. So can we start now?”

Teoh: “Hi Teoh, sure, I am ready for it”

Teoh: “Have you even thought of using game to improve the way of teaching?”

Teacher Tamizi: “Yes. In our great eagerness to teach our children we studiously look for education toys, games with built in lessons. Beside, using a game for a way to teaching is one of the policies of PDPC (Pembelajaran dan pemudahcaraan). It will be most interest and effective way for the children to think and move. It comes to motivate the potential of children to learn in different field.”

Teoh: “Do you think that game can enhance teaching and learning?”

Teacher Tamizi:  “I was definitely agreed for it. By playing a game, students may be able to understand a new concept or idea, take on a different perspective, or experiment with different options or variables. As a teacher, I realise that there are countless skills that students can develop through game playing such as critical thinking skills, creativity, teamwork, and a good sportsmanship. “

Teoh: “What are the challenges does you think that most teachers are facing when it comes to teaching?”

Teacher Tamizi: “The main challenges which had been faced by our school were the quantity of the student was too large. We have only 3 classes for every each year start from year 1 to year 5, and 4 classes for year 6. Every class has among 45-50 students. It was giving a big challenge for a teacher to teach and control a class. The students will lose their focus in the class when teacher is teaching in front. As a teacher, I also need a support by technology to increase my voice in order to take the attention from the student because without the help of technology it may cause the teacher to loss their sound. Teacher has to think for another way to attract the focus of the students. ”

Teoh: “Do you think that the board game we develop will be helpful for the teacher to teaching and students to learning?”

Principal:  “I am so appreciate that you guys will develop a game to help us for another way of teaching. I am totally support for you guys. While playing board games, students will develop a variety of connections with the content and can form positive memories of learning. The knowledge of the content of board game should include some of the syllabus of the primary school. A positive emotional connection can facilitate learning. Furthermore, many board games feature a variety of different stimuli; some students might remember the vocabulary words from acting them out. Board game can provide a variety of sensory experiences for students.”
Teoh: “That’s all about our interview question, is it any question that you need to ask.”

Teacher Tamizi: “It was so pleasure to have a connection and cooperation with university to discuss the effective way of teaching. It was a good activity and I hope this type of the activity will continuously.”

Teoh： “Thank you for giving an opportunity for us to have this activity in your school and we hope the board game we develop will be useful for your school education style.”
