Interns often bring a fresh perspective to the table, offering innovative ideas and new insights that can challenge the status quo. However, when placed in a challenging situation, such as dealing with a parent who shouts and snaps their fingers at them, this fresh perspective can quickly be overshadowed by the emotional toll of the experience.

Principal:
The principal, as a key decision-maker, brings the broadest perspective, including an understanding of the school’s vision, values, and policies. The principal also has insight into resource availability and the feasibility of different ideas. Their leadership role makes them essential for prioritizing and aligning any solutions with the school’s strategic objectives. The principal can also provide guidance on how to ensure that respect becomes a consistent part of the school culture, influencing both teachers' and parents' involvement.

• Being respectful to our staff

In the heart of Dino Valley, where dinosaurs of all kinds lived and learned together, the Joyful Dinosaurs loved their days at Dino School. They played, learned new things, and helped one another—creating a warm and happy place for all.

One bright morning, as the little dinosaurs were happily skipping into school, something unexpected happened. Daddy T-Rex, towering and fearsome, stomped into the schoolyard. His eyes narrowed as he watched the Joyful Dinosaurs chatting and playing while his baby T-Rex struggled to take off their shoes.

"Why aren’t you helping my babies?!" Daddy T-Rex roared, his voice thundering across the valley. He snapped his giant claws, making the anxious dinosaurs freeze in place. "Do your job properly!" he growled.

The Joyful Dinosaurs, caught off guard, were no longer joyful at all. Their tails drooped, and their usual giggles disappeared. They had always been kind and helpful, but being yelled at so suddenly made them feel small and unsure.

The Leader Dinosaur, who had been watching from afar, quickly stepped in. She saw how shaken the Joyful Dinosaurs were and how the air had turned heavy with unease. Knowing this was serious, she brought the matter to SPIDERMAN (Upper Management), hoping they could help restore peace.

But the next day, things didn’t get better. The Joyful Dinosaurs still felt nervous, and even though Daddy T-Rex wasn’t there, his roar still echoed in their minds. The feeling of tension spread, even to the Leader Dinosaur.

By the second day, the Leader Dinosaur knew something had to be done. She gathered all the dinosaurs and sent a message to Mummy and Daddy T-Rex, inviting them for a meeting.

When the meeting began, the Leader Dinosaur spoke gently but firmly. "We understand that you want the best for your babies, but the way we treat each other matters. Our school is a place of kindness and respect."

Mummy T-Rex nodded, but Daddy T-Rex huffed. "I was just making sure my babies were cared for!" he snapped.

"And we do care," said the Leader Dinosaur. "But when we communicate with kindness, we build stronger relationships. Wouldn’t you want your babies to learn in a place where everyone feels safe and respected?"

Despite the Leader Dinosaur’s efforts, Daddy T-Rex wasn’t convinced. "This place isn’t right for my babies," he grumbled. "We’ll find another school."

And just like that, they withdrew their baby T-Rex from Dino School. The Joyful Dinosaurs were sad, but they also knew they had done their best to solve the problem peacefully.

To prevent something like this from happening again, the Leader Dinosaur and Upper Management created a Respect Policy for all dinosaur families. They added it to the Parent Handbook and placed signs around the school, reminding everyone that respect and kindness were part of their school’s values.

Slowly but surely, the school returned to its warm, joyful place—where dinosaurs big and small treated each other with care, making Dino Valley a happier home for all.
