Howe's lived through the 1800's. Elias Howes and seven other men invented the sewing machine. Clothes were made by hand before Howes main invention. Howes had an interest in machines when he was young. Ari Davis inspired Howe, when he told a young inventor to invent a sewing machine. Howe then died due to a massive blood clot at the age of 48, on October 3, 1867.
